The guys up in Franz Josef were jumping from 18000ft last week, I dont know how high it was when they pulled the cord, but there was a couple of times when I thought they had fucked something up and were gonna splat. Fuckin Insane, I like a good adrenalin rush but that shit looks bad ass.
It,s like sex though, over way too quickly.![]()
For a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him.Keep an open mind, just dont let your brains fall out.
You would have to be baked for that shit.
The price per ride makes it accessible to a lot more people than sky diving ever will be.
It feels like longer than it is. 5 seconds of free falling will take you 122m so it was probably a lot less.
I did an 80m bungy and they used 16m of bungy cord. 16m of free fall is 1.8 seconds and 64km/h. Peak speed would be a bit higher as the bungy cord won't instantaneously reduce the acceleration.
This drop ride reaches 145km/h which is equivalent to 83m (or 4.1s) of free fall acceleration, actual values will be lower as it will start braking before peak speed is reached. But it probably gives a longer sensation of free fall than most bungy jumps.
Some lass talked me into doing the drop ride at surfers. Bravado had me queue up nonchalantly. Had to take me flip-flops off & leave them on the ground, but the guy said, 'don't worry, you'll be back soon enough mate'
The ride up was ok until you realised you're sitting on a park bench in your shorts & the people start to look like ants. All cool retained, but they leave you up there for a min while you're in high anticipation mode for too long. Yeah man, Yeah man, Yeah man, Yeah man. . . um, soon yeah? Um? Now? How bout now?
OK I don't wanna go now. PLUMMET!
She went up for a 2nd go. I had something else to do.
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.
