Bikers In Blue Ride: Sunday 15 September 2013, Auckland, Wellington & Christchurch

Big rides like this do have potential for a lot of danger. You're riding in close quarters usually with a lot of strangers, you have no idea how they ride, or how they will react to any given situation. Maintaining a safety bubble and being ultra aware of your surroundings is crucial. Also keep an eye as far into the distance as possible, so you get warning when things suddenly slow down etc.

yup You have to be aware for sure, some parts of the pack were not bad at all, I mostly had one bike behind me that kept its distance but could see worse ahead when I moved up when we split changing lanes.


If in doubt ask for a backstop, Its no like we would say no as no one is going to get there faster :P

All in all a well organized ride.

I think a few of the same crew are helping with the Pink Ribbon ride? I might be on that ride as well all going to plan
