A stripped out turbo MR2 would be a laugh as a road car.
My road mkII has a quadcam lexus V6 in it. Dark purple thing with in dash DVD and shit but you won't see it round much. I've been out of the dirt track loop for a couple years now, just busy studying and whatnot. I have the RWD turbo prelude ready for this season though; hopefully the engine holds long enough I can iron out the kinks with the Vtec engagement.

As for handling you will find with the mr2 handling no one and I mean no one runs the correct alignment. They plough into understeer then snap oversteer like turds on stock alignment, at least halve the toe in and it improves 10 fold. Stagger the rim offsets slightly and run slightly wider tyres on the back. The mkII has dominated E-stock over in the states for a long time. Toyota really fucked up the standard specs for toe. I do silly shit in mine. Old but you get some idea they are quite tossible, this is pre locked diff to.

Plenty of other clowns to worry about without that sort of carry on.
    Nah, no stress

Kind of like it hear so I may poke around elsewhere on the forums. I've got a few biker friends and I've long considered looking into a bike so maybe it'll rub off on me

As for Kieran... he's not much of a 'hard guy' in real life; let's just say the description earlier in the thread probably wasn't his mum. I wouldn't wish violence on him but I think I already said I hoped he was shitting his pants and learned something from it!

I don't disagree on the S2000's handling compared to the MX-5. The MX-5 is definitely far, far more predictable but the S2000 in my experience is far sharper all around, particularly if you get the alignment sorted or have a later model. I definitely wouldn't say no an MX-5 to track alongside my S2000. I'm guessing you'd pick the MX-5 for the best of both worlds, but I daily my S2000 and have taken it to the track and I wouldn't have it any other way

I don't like the later MR2's, although the convertible's aren't too bad, by this I mean looks-wise. The hard-tops were like a mini Ferrari if you got the turbo'd one.
I used to own an MR-2 G-Limited as well, and test drove a turbocharged model while I was looking before buying my MX-5. Definitely feel very, very fast but I found it far too loud certainly in turbo form!

We've been here before Mr Bear I prefer the S2K, having driven NA/B/C MX-5s and AP1/2 S2Ks, the Honda is just pure magic.

I can't disagree with you about the S2k, I'd love one. Who couldn't love 240 hp in a car that size and that good looking?

It's just that for most situations, the MX5 is more "accessible".

I have fond memories of the Escorts, and know a guy who builds them into rally cars.

I was talking about Mr. Cuntball's comments lol.

As for MX5's, I donno, they seem to be a sound roadster. They must be half decent otherwise they wouldn't still be making them after 20+ years

Took ours out yesterday. Nothing beats a convertible with the top down on a sunny day!

    Oh, yeah, that too.

Trouble is, I'm not allowed to ride a bike, although I live in hope of getting back on two wheels again.
