I can't see any detail in either supp regs or entry form as to which Post classic classes are eligible.

How's the TT been run ? i'm aware it's been run before but don't know the format.

    Anyone have answers ?

As its a first attempt at running it,

We have to play it by ear this year and see what sort of entries we get as the rulebook demands 6 entries for the class to run,It is our intention to run all 3 if enough entries are received,At the TT they run them all together and then work the finishing order out later,As I said earlier,We will have too see how it pans out before we can give any definitive answers

As Billy has said all together.
Last season there were not enough junior enteries to call it a TT but enough senior enteries.
Remember all wanting eligabilty to race in the TT (& GP) will need Championship licenses.

thank you for your answers. I too will be interested to see how it pans out but Ruapuna is a funny place...With pre 89's in the field, and a relatively long race, there'll be plenty of lapped traffic - and big speed differentials too.

I suspect that now we know it's taking up to pre 89, I won't be involved at all.

There will be individual titles for pre 72/82/89 provided enough entries are received for those classes

True........ Those fandangled Pre89 bikes will only be 25 years old in 2014, - They should still be competitve in Superbike aye.................

I'll bow to your superior knowledge and more recent experience on thet question Glen...

Here in T'south we have biggish fields of smaller bikes as our circuits suit them. Given the presumably very fast NI pre 89's coming down, and the 125% cutoff quoted in the supp regs, how many will be keen to enter ?

My choice not to be involved was not sour grapes, but comes from observation of large field of mixed classes on Ruapuna, which frankly, frightened me...

I doubt the 125% cut off counts when the classes are mixed.
How to make a small fortune out of motorcycle racing, start out with a BIG fortune

Well, again, that's another unknown...But if there's a 125% cutoff for other classes on safety grounds, why wouldn't it apply to this race ?

I'd point out that even at 125%, that means the slow stuff will be lapped twice in 8 laps.

Don't get me wrong, I'm pleased to see a post Classic race on the programme. Whether an all in as a support class at a national is the best way i really don't know - time will tell.

What's a good pre '89 bike gonna cut around Ruapuna? 1m30s ish?

So the cut off would be 1m52s.

If juniors are gonna be on track at the same time, I envisage a few fucked off people packing up early.

The fastest two pre 82's i know of were John Beck on the RG at around 1.43 and K Orr on a GS at 1.44. those two were head and shoulders above the rest of pre 82. We haven't really seen a combo of good bike and rider in pre 89's yet so they're only a couple of secs quicker at the moment. i don't know of a pre 72 doing better than around 1.53ish...

Given how John's gone at HD, I doubt the locals will be competitive. Yes, maybe mid 1.30's for the Norfies on slicks.
