Probably a bit of a tangent from the answer you're looking for, but to ponder (and the book is awesome if that sort of stuff holds your interest).
A well-used copy of Diamond's book sits less than six feet from my chair as I write this ...

I think the definition is probably valid ... (tho' like Ocean1 I'm not sure it's exactly what Diamond says - but it can be extrapolated from hsi book) ... I like the idea that it does not carry an inherent concept that "advanced" is a good thing ... in fact it places it in rather a negative light - without advanced civilization many many people today would be screwed ... because they have no survival skills

    Maybe it is...
Possibly wouldn't have been my cup of tea at the time, but I wish I was made to chew through it at school.

Same, because I haven't actually finished it yet

    Yup, myself included sadly.

Not the most polished movie but yourself and Ocean would probably enjoying watching Idiocracy.

UPDATE: Ok, so heard back from the police-peoples.

The file was passed to South Auckland Police to follow up and visit the registered address of the car involved. Unfortunately they were unable to identify even the driver or the people in the car, but they were delivered a bit of a warning. Dead end.
