Latest Rossi rumour is different. He will announce his retirement at Mugello and team with Alonso to drive a Ferrari at LeMans. Don't know where that originated but care is needed as the Spanish equivalent of April first occurs in late December.

All the best for 2014 y'all.

Mugello is in Italy, Rossi is Italian, the only Spaniard is Alonso, so Rossi would be the butt of the joke? Actually I can see him doing that....

    A Ferrari at Le Mans != F1

He means Alonso and Rossi will team up to drive a Ferrari in the 24 hours of Le Man, which would be awesome!

That rumour was posted on Twitter this morning, I don't know where it originated but my source was British (bennetts.co.uk). They say the rumour has been boosted by a post from Mark Webber who has signed for Porsche in the same series. He said, "Great to hear Farrari looking to return to Le Mans too??? Driver line up for 2015 @alo_oficial and @ValeYellow46 #will work"

Should get this quote right, it's cut and paste.

This from Gigi Dall'Igna on his appointment to Ducati.

"I will start with organization. There are two completely different units inside Ducati Corse. One is the racetrack unit, and the other is the people who live in Bologna. The first job will be to properly join these two areas to improve the flow of information from the racetrack to the people who work at Ducati. After that, I have to work on the technical problems."
That puzzled me as I was under the impression that the Ducati front end was the urgent problem.

Yesterday I was listening to an interview on a Motopod podcast where it was claimed that Warren Willing was hired to sort some problems for Ducati. On his return home he was asked something to the effect about how many of his recommendations had been acted upon. The answer was basically none. The comment was also made that both Hayden and Dovi were depressed that information passed back from the track produced no meaningful results.

The comment was also made that Preziosi was replaced but as yet there had been no improvement so the problem appeared to originate somewhere other than with him.

Here's hoping the new broom can sweep clean.

The biggest problems at Ducati have always been
    1. people
    2. organisation

The first was pretty much Preziosi. He is a brilliant and imaginative Engineer, but he took advice as criticism, is a stubborn and arrogant Italian male and believed that the riders have to adapt to the bike no matter how difficult it is to ride.

For the second Gigi is well onto it by joining the separate bits of Ducati Corse so they work together.

After the personnel and organisation are sorted the bike can be fixed.
Zen wisdom: No matter what happens, somebody will find a way to take it too seriously. - obviously had KB in mind when he came up with that gem

Maybe they should take a look at what KTM have done with their AMA Supercross team led by 'The Man'.
Under his leadership they went from also rans to title contenders and title winners in a matter of just a couple of years.
