While I have no patience with the eco-nutters, I think that surely the captain of the ship must bear ultimate responsibility for the result? He should not be putting his vessel in harms way on the instructions of the passengers?

I was in the British Army on exercise in Germany many moons ago.
The first Land Rover got stuck in mud.
Second one sent to recover it got stuck.
Three tonne truck sent to rescue them got stuck.
Tractor driven by German farmer recovered all three for a huge fee.

just send a German ice breaker.......... ............at least you know they won't laugh at the situation!

The carbon footprint of this fiasco keeps growing. Now there's an American icebreaker going down to save the Chinese icebreaker that took over from the Australians who were trying to rescue the Russians... I think.

Perhaps we could arrange an emergency airdrop of a copy. Did everything end happily?

Climate change has caused the wind to change direction and the ships are now free. Hurrah.
