    licence 1,2,3,4,5...?
For the 50 cents it cost you there to buy a "licence" you may as well tick all the boxes......

    Police?............
    What are they gonna do...?
    Was the driver speeding....?

    Pissed off?
how come then that at the very least Achmed wasn't wearing his wing mirrors around his neck?

whatever you choose to be, or do, you got to be or do it with a bit more conviction...........
just blabbering about it won't make any difference neither to him nor you......
Opinions are like arseholes: Everybody has got one, but that doesn't mean you got to air it in public all the time....

LOL you don't know the industry very well or haven't mixed with many truck drivers then. That "must pass criminal background check" fluff you see in ads is just for appearances for many companies along with "must have current DG endorsement" or willing to stash it in the toolbox...

If it does end up in court all he will get is $150 for failing to stop in time. You wont be able to muster enough evidence to prove he deliberately hit you and it all appears low speed, no injury.

The OP managed this horribly badly and has made a giant mountain out of a molehill. If you don't, a. learn to avoid this sort of situation in the first place and, b. let it go, you will get yourself and your girlfriend killed. It's not worth dying over someone else's real or imagined incompetence.

    Get. Some. Training.

Everyone here is pretty spot on when they say it was an avoidable situation. I've learnt over the years that there's no point in fighting with cagers. many of them are cunts and will do what they'll do. I learnt my lesson after i got cheeky with this dude who was presumably on meth. It's a bit of a long story but he basically tailgated/undertook/nearly hit me, so I got cheeky with him. But...he chased me down, overtook me (on a blind corner, too), cut me off by parking across the road, got out of his car in the middle of the road and charged at me beating his chest. I'm not kidding, it was mental and at this point I was seriously concerned he was going to beat the shit out of me. I high tailed it out of there pretty damn quick (ran a couple of red lights) and hid in a car park. didn't ride for the next week, and I was paranoid for months.... let sleeping dogs lie, it's just plain not worth it. you don't have much evidence, you wronged him as much as he wronged you... in my earlier post i did say the cops, won't do much, and i still don't think they will, but you live and learn eh

I empathised with the OP right up to the point he said, "NO, this is my lane...." Okay, the car driver made a mistake. We ALL do! If you don't believe that you are mistaken. Let it go, and move on. It all should have ended right there.

As James Deuce said, get some training. You can do an ACC subsidised course for $50. Just click on the ProRider banner in my signature for details.

I seriously hope you learn from this and don't end up hurt or killed.

Road rage is essentially subordinating ones' life to a stranger. (Quoted from Denis Waitley)

Yes I can understand the described situation, and it must have been hard to imagine that letting the drongo driver in was a 2 second inconvenience, for the red mist had already clouded the OP's thinking. We've all been guilty of that at times of course.

Right or wrong had nothing to do with the situation described by the OP, it was just about ego. Oh well, plenty of fellas with a big ego in the cemetery...

Weird. I had a very similar experience in Taupo on Friday. Rubbish truck ahead on opposite side of road wanting to merge into our lane, was already sitting halfway across other lane. Gave way to the car in front of me, then started pulling out right onto me. Clearly he'd seen the car and decided he was going to pull around as soon as it had passed.

I'd had my eye on him, moved a little, tooted a bit and he stopped, and did the "yeah I'm a dumb cunt and SMIDSY" wave, and I carried on my way. I guess I should have just let him run me over since I was in the right?

Afterwards I never bothered to mention it to anyone.

Maybe not so similar after all.

I was having a thought on this sort of subject the Other day:

What if Bikers were allowed to have Medieval Jousting Lances with the tips aimed at Drivers head heights? After a few Smidsy type incidents where the result was the Cage Driver got a giant lance through their head - maybe Car Drivers might start thinking along these lines:

"I should look out for Bikes, cause if I pull a dumb fuck move - I might get a Lance through my head and Die"

as opposed to the current thought process of:

    "herp Derper Duuuuuuuur"

Is just a thought at the moment.

I'm also leaping to conclusions here, but KTM Duke 200 plus a relatively recent joining date on KB - I hope the OP's license conditions allow a pillion or a visit to the Police with this story as well as the self-confessed reckless riding may not end well.

    Many different thoughts from posters.

    Some comments:

Yes, anyone can make a mistake. But deliberately drive into someone. Twice! No no, that's just pure evil. Even when I had stopped him, he didn't make any effort to take any blame.

Yes, I partly blame myself for letting me be provoked. The rational thing would be to just brake and let him go. But the fact that I didn't, does not excuse him to jam into me. He should have stopped where he was, when there was no room for him to merge in after doing his stupid U-turn. It would make him look like a dork standing still in the opposing lane, but that's the price of making "mistakes". Been there, done that.

I have a full license since 4 years. Done track days and rider training. Driven everything from 50cc scooter to GSXR750 race prepped. Daily driver is my Duke 200, weekender Hornet 900.

This was the bit that amazed me: "By now I'm so pissed off, I gun it and chase him up, over taking him, stopping, and being rear ended again!"

So the guy proves he's a dick, and you go park your bike in front of him?

Maybe following, to memorise plate # to make a complaint with the cops without doing anything to make the cops think it's a 50-50 situation, was the thing to do.
Measure once, cut twice. Practice makes perfect.
