i better rephrase that i am baiased i like my kwaka's, the 91 zzr1100 i had was an awesome bike and i would say better than the 99 zzr1100 i bought new, and the kwaka farm bikes and quads i have owned and currently still own (though im no longer farming so just toys now) have all been great machines.
at the end of the day you need to test ride and find what makes you feel confident and comfortable whether that be a sports bike, cruiser or trailie. good luck and enjoy what you end up with

well I had a ride on it yesterday and found it very comfy, the acceleration was good, I could easily keep up with the traffic on moorehouse avenue, and if I wanted I could quite easily outrun the traffic no problem but I have to admit the bike was really heavy, then again I am used to scooter so what do you expect haha

You may find around town they handle lighter than a road bike for the same size motor but as I said they are taller to sit on.
I am going to the track with my mates this weekend so I will get to taste something along the lines of a trail bike, if I like it I may veer to it plus it will be a great learning experience to me

unless you intend to ride off road, (which by the way is highly recommended as a good place to learn some good handling skills), forget about a dedicated traillie, if you are going to do longer trips you are better off with a road bike unless you go to an adventure bike somewhere in the 650cc region, last time i was in CHCH it wasn't the bumpy roads that were a problem it was the downright fucken arrogant self absorbed driving that was way more dangerous, and i got so fucken sick of hearing that people were like it cause they were so stressed about the quakes, all they really needed t do was pull there fuckin heads out of their asses and start treating everybody with respect, hence i avoid CHCH like the plague it has become
