Anybody track daying or racing a Hyosung GT650?

Anybody out there on track with a Hyo 650? After any set up advice for setting one up for track days. Bike is stock so will be stripped back.

Have you tried talking to Ken or Fergus at Hyosung NZ,They are getting some good results with their bike.

Yes I did that, not sure who I spoke to but got a sales pitch. Im fixing up an old bike to be used in group one at ART days so it doesnt need all the top gear.

So far worked out new 10w fork oil, road crap off, braided lines, pads and maybe gsxr rear shock. Already been jetted with bigger pipe.

More after safety stuff, like if you do this the motor wont go bang.

For group one at ART you will fine with a stock bike.

Well yes, but tiding it up. Will be for Sharry to use in the long term. I will use it for the next one to make sure its good then she wont be far off being able to ride it. I just got clip ons for it for $60 off TM but it will go back to stock bars for her.

Yeah, very wet. Was getting wheelspin. Got 2 runs then they stopped it.

That's a bit sucky, all that way for 2 sessions.

We were down at Taupo for the two days. Friday was superb and we didn't get rain until after lunch yesterday.
Got a flat back tyre, (chain joining link inbeded in tyre) on the first session so missed the second while that was getting changed but a good weekend.

Yeah, the unpredictable surface really makes for interesting racing.

I also just did the 2 dayer at Taupo. Much more interesting and fun than HD. Thankfully I ride too slow for the different surfaces to have any negative effects!

I got on the gas too hard too early and the back stepped out coming out onto the back straight on Friday.
Those white lines are poo inspiring.

Is that on the short track configuration?

My K2 thou used to leap sideways coming round there every lap. No matter what I did, it still stepped out. Wasn't the white line for me though, used to happen half way accross the track.

Yeah some nasty bumps hard on the inside there as well. Thankfully the white lines for the grid spots did not seem anywhere near as slippery.

Those SV650s can get around fairly quickly so I would imagine a hyosung would do ok until it fell apart.
