Peter Sales..
what a ride so far!!!!
last one as in last picture in series.
The others were all Ducati though
With the F800GS, rather than utilize a pair of counter-balanced shafts, BMW employs what’s called a balancing connecting rod. This helps keep the engine compact and allows for use of a semi-dry oil sump. The method by which this balancing rod works to counter vibration gets a little technical and any attempt by me to explain its operation would have you snoozing at the keyboard in no time (it’s akin to the system used by Ducati in its rare single-cylinder Supermono –Ed.). Put simply, the balancing connecting rod is set at 180 degrees from the crank pins, thereby “the mass forces resulting from the swinging movement combat, in every crankshaft position, the oscillating mass forces from the crank drive (piston and con-rod proportion).” Dry stuff, but it works well.

Ah, missed that - ok, sorry
How we doing?
No progress since the new front end went in it. Other than stripping the frame and cutting off anything I didn't think needed to be there.
I'm toying with a really dumb idea, based on a fucked motor that's in my shed.
A CBR600 motor that's fucked, and a GL145 hybrid. Bottom end of the GL, and a quarter of a CBR barrels, slug, and head.
Is it possible to the minds of others? Is it a case of taking to things with a band saw, sealing the water and oil galleries exposed, getting it to bolt on, and cranking up my one off 150cc twin cam, four valve, water cooled, 12000rpm beast?
Guy did one on salt flat racer based on a postie and poweroll did a 150 on a cr85 can't show you PC is dead so yes of course a vt250 on a Honda single has been done as well
