    I'm trying to batt myeyelashes

Is it working? There is not batting eyelash icon. How can that be?

I have had a look on the rain radar. Looks like one more band of showers to come through. Roads will be wet so I think I will put on my wet gear.

I will be there on the bike.

But maybe we just go straight to the drinking hole? Who ever turns up will decide

We waited for the rain band to pass before heading for Runciman and doing that loop. A few little showers. Just wet roads. And DARK! Man, I haven't noticed it that dark before. Good practise.

Funny I had probs with lights at my off ramp too but I didn't wait. Well, I did, I waited till there was no one around.

And NO complaints about death star was because I was being polite. I was counting all the drops on my visor as we pootled along. I could see every one of them because of the reflection from my mirrors. That's why i kept wiping my visor.

Though there were times I could see the moon. That must have been as we were going around corners or over hills and death star ray wasn't in my mirrors.

The moon was the light in the sky, the light following you was ME

a NECK WARMER would have muffled some of the light and the rain
wait till I get a second motor installed with a bigger alternator (double HP=double light)

Was stuck at work a little later than usual too which is why I didn't make it.

Bike has a clean bill of health now, minus tyres which I've gotta do in a few weeks. Just gotta decide on whether to go for Continentals, Bridgestones (current tyres) or some Michelins..

Michelins Pilot Road 4s or Pilot Road 3s which ever suit your day to day riding habits

If you are looking at track then go for PP3.

If you're commuting, get dual compound tyres - tougher centre will last long with stickier sides for cornering. I find mine still good in the wet, never slipped... Those are Bridgestone BT45s and now Conti Road Attacks.

..yea, heard good things about these too. Are these what you run? I wanna hit up the track later in the year but also trying to get at least 10,000kms from the next set.

My current tyres are dual compound but they lost a mm of tread after 1,000kms. I heard they only come stock with around 5mm of tread anyway from new..!

The first little bit should wear quickly as the compound is oiled to minimise hardening the middle 1/3 of the tread wear should account for about 2/3 of the wear because this did the part of the lifespan the tyre is optimised for. Then the last bit wears quicker because all the oils have cooked off and the material is substantially harder.

This is not the same as a dual compound. It is just a function of they have to optimise the durability of the compound so they aim to make the average ideal. The outer ends up softer than ideal, the inert ends up harder than ideal.

The net effect should be they scrub in quick, seem to not change for ages then they go from plenty of tread to fucked really quickly.
