Thirty years ago, most politicians were from a business background, successfull professional careers, farming / trade etc.
Nowadays, most aspiring polo's seem to be tossers with an narrow focussed agenda and a loud voice.

I would love to see Donkey out on his ear, but have no confidence in any of the opposition.

You're so quaintly old fashioned Allan, what you need to do is tweet a picture of yourself with a sad face holding up a sign with an appropriate hashtag on.

I wonder how far the TPP deal will quietly progress while we're distracted.

Oh yeah, they started a war and shot down an airliner so that they could sneak the TPP past you.
If a trade agreement which may or may not be agreed by the partners within the next five years is the worst thing in your life, you are a lucky man.

Don't be a fucking dickhead. I never suggested that an airliner was shot down specifically to cover our government's secret deal.

Sometimes though, world events just conveniently provide convenient distractions.

If I was dickhead, I'd be droning on about a trade agreement that hasn't had it's final version written yet, and probably never will do, like it's the end of western civilisation.

    Concur.
Vote for the devil you know or the devil you don't?

Regardless of my thoughts on party policies for the betterment of the nation it's the current regimes consistently underhand tactics which rip my nightie the most. What they want they get, by fair means or foul. That is not leadership for the people.

With mainstream media focused on increasing viewer share & currying political favor it's almost impossible to get unbiased news unless you have an enquiring mind.

Yeah. The Gummint is going to sign a secret trade agreement and keep the content from the voters.
And this more important than Gaza or Ukraine.
