caseye: I don't even know the poster, this cop. I don't know how good or bad he is at his job. And nor the fuck do you?
Just because he's on here you may like him is a rather pathetic arguement to make for what were discussing, I'm picking your a hi vid wearing speed limit wannabe who wouldn't have an original idea in your brain
Follow the crowd
Get offended by opinions on KB
Un like you I see it as a bit of banter and a bit of fun, but will respect your view and even buy you a beer next time I see you at the Te Rapa
I don't have a lot of time for police nowadays - I don't like their attitude or the way our roads are policed, I think it's a scandal how politics are played out in the police
However I also know its a bloody hard job.
I have met scummy who is also a cop and on KB - bloody good guy but I still have a go with him about road policing priorities - but its taken in the spirit it was meant
Some cops do target bikes, some target Nissan Skylines
For the record I have had two tickets on my bike in over 30 years of riding
I have had far too many in my cars over the years, mainly commuting to Auckland daily for work
I have been seen and witnessed first hand brutality and abuse dished out by police
I see the need for them, but also believe in holding them to account
KB member or not

Phew, for a moment there I thought you were going to unfriend me.
Beers good.
Looking forward to it at the Rapa.
No I don't know, haven't met Rastus, but I know what he does and I know how very unrewarding it can be.Not only that but I have formed My own opinion of his character and obvious all round good bugger status despite being a Roza. ( tongue firmly in cheek)
For the record I have yet to see another post in this thread that agrees with your original observation/opinion,now called bantering.
Yep, tickets few and far between, hate Hi Viz it's a sop that will kill far more then it'll ever save.
Speed Limits if observed by everyone all the time would not change the numbers killed on our roads, so no I don't observe them all the time either.Sorry.
I usually say what I mean and mean what I say, this I find it is easier than starting a shit stir without thought to the consequences and who I may offend, not that offending people is something I shy away from if it's earn't.
Every day above ground is a good day!:
So KB has respected members --- LMAO that's pathetic, what do people do to be respected on here (post what you agree with?) and who votes, are there awards given out? You do realize its an internet forum and not reality?
How the fuck would any one on here know that unless the worked with him? I havent made any judgements on how good or bad at hgis job he is
I questioned his decision making in posting this crap on here, and the criticized the complete (in my opinion) screwed up priorities of policing a cycle lane from a lead he was given ..... I think its amusing when people get offended by comments on KB - i do draw the line at decency however - racism, pedo's and other shyte like that
I laugh my arse off when i see the pathetic red rep comments posted on my page, people actually think its real
Actually Ive been on this site longer you and most of the others - old profile was smoky
And been bashing dumb arses for just as long - not just cops who say stupid things - I think anyone is fair game on here
Obviously you like a more congenial conversation - i guess from experience very little on KB is of that nature

Hey I saw a guy park his car facing the wrong way in a suburban street over night - he does it every Tuesday night
If I PM you the address could you pop over there and sit in your police car and catch him for us
he's such a hazard - its terrible and he needs to be stopped - he's just not conforming
P.S I have it on good authority he doesn't wear a hi vis vest on his bike either - he's obviously a real bad arse
Live long and prosper ……………… or ride a motorbike
Parking in the cycle lane, feckin dangerous alright... ST1100 (or similar) gets snotted by group of riders at 55sec mark... not pretty...
Why does the video embed thing not always come up, is there a limit per day/week etc... only pic icon at moment in menu bar above...

Did you not see the guy at 0:41 that required a stretcher? Bike was protecting him. Better for all those other fuckwits to plow into a motorcycle, than for them to plow into someone already out for the count imo.
Course, the fact that they all come screaming around the corner despite having people wave them down.... guess they don't use brakes?![]()

Oh no, I saw all that, bike wasn't really in the best position (should be backed into barrier and angled out), plus the ref was on the bike, which made him vulnerable, when he could have gone back up the course to slow riders down... Those sort of situations need to be tackled quickly and decisively. Plus he couldn't back up the ST1300 from where he'd stopped.
Still, hindsight is 20-20.

So is this a trend/normal in road cycling when an incident occurs. Seemed to be an astounding lack of scene control for what looks like a comatose rider in first incident.
A few mountain bike events I've been to its an instant disqualification if you ride past an injured rider without offering help...
Love how the guy at 1.25 leans a bike up against the MC, then when the MC gets picked up another guy half hands the bike to him. He cant possibly not be aware but looks away and lets it drop.
Its only a 10K carbon pushbike I suppose but shows lack of care...

The video is overseas, so can't comment, but I think I saw reference about problems with medics accessing course etc.
In NZ, basically, it depends on the event. Stage races (multi-day with country roads) usually have a doctor car, with doctor on board and ambulances in the convoy of vehicles which can be radioed up when needed. Closed course (triathlon, ironman etc) usually has one doctor on a motorbike for rapid response and this can be for public or participants, often a mix of medics on bicycles and motorbikes plus ambulances stationed in certain places. In terms of medical events, could be anything from hypothermia to heat exhaustion to broken bones.
Competitors won't stop for another competitor, but then I'm guessing it's not as isolated as mountain bike type events?
