I'm not gonna read the story as it sounds like any Friday Night on Sauchiehall Street... and they don't have Ebola, so it must be lies.

True, anything 90% proof is likely immune.

Rather than a dirty bomb...how about a dirty bum? Flies to a city and hits the red light district whilst infectious and flies out. Nobody would know what had been done till it's been rapidly spread. Or rather than flying out they could step out in front of a bus....who would think to check an RTA fatality for Ebola?

Well I've just checked my psychopathy score to make sure I'm ok.

heh, when we went back they'd flattened benefit street where I used to live. Fuck all wrong with the flats like, but they seem to need the room for the ever encroaching nice houses .

Fuck that. You walk up to the local dam/water storage and tip as much of that shit in as you like. It'll all but annihilate the entire population and anyone leaving the country will take it with them. Fluids are easy to avoid, well, the ones that aren't vital.

You're a psycho too, deal with it

A good question and the answer is that Ebola and Marburg are not easily transmitted despite what we read. These hemorrhagic diseases are very very rare - so rare in fact they weren't even known about until 1976. They live with bats and occasionally infect monkeys but crossing over to humans is very new.

Actually nobody knows where the actual Ebola and Marburg reservoir is - the fruit bats idea comes from a Kenyan cave but the virus might live with some type of bird instead.

You may remember the SARS and H1N1 scare around the year 2000. If that virus crossover ever breaks out then Ebola etc will be a mere footnote in history. As Paul said above, influenza is a virulent killer and far worse than anything we have seen in recent times.

Contaminated water; a decade of brutal war displacing huge numbers of people; chronic grinding poverty; severe malnutrition and starvation; inherently toxic vaccines and medicines that are devastating to people whose immune systems are already on the brink of failing; industrial pollutants in the streams and soil—that’s the pre-Ebola baseline called “otherwise healthy.”

Then there is the matter of diagnosis of Ebola. As I’ve explained in past articles, two of the most widely used tests—antibody and PCR—are both pathetically unreliable methods for disease analysis.

Not to burst the bubble, but…consider the World Health Organization report, April 2009, titled, “Influenza (Seasonal).” Discussing ordinary flu, it estimates 5 million cases a year, around the world, and between 250,000 and 500,000 deaths. Every year. Like clockwork.

Imagine what would happen if you kept those huge global flu numbers and simply substituted “Ebola” for “flu.”
Thats a good article John until about halfway through when he breaks out into a dystopic conspiracy theory.

The science is that viruses are strange creatures indeed - not living but not dead. Crystals which grab DNA and can adapt to new cellular structures. Viruses are very helpful for medical biologists because they can insert foreign DNA into cells. But they remain strange.

    Marburg

Just for the conspiracy and foil-hat community: Marburg has infected and killed a 30yr old man in Uganda, East Africa, far far away from the Ebola outbreak.

    Weird huh?

Seems to be spreading quite nicely for a hard to catch virus. Aids is a hard to catch Virus- I don't put Ebola in the easily avoidable bracket. I blame the Aid workers flying back without properly quarantining themselves. A sweaty handshake is enough hardly easily avoidable.

    True Winston!

There is a lot of conflicting information, the best way to discredit real conspiracy information is by casting doubt through misinformation!

Doesn't stop us decoding the wheat from the chaff by cross checking and comparing over time ... the truth will reveal it's self in the end!

Unfortunately for a lot of people that will probably be too late!
