The rules don't say they have to be clear but if you're stripping the bike down between every meeting it's not going to go rusty. Powder coating is OK but you won't see the smaller cracks as soon as they start and then by the time they've got bigger you've got a proper job on your hands getting the coating off before fixing shit back up.
Fine as far as it goes but I won't use powder on the (solo) frames I build. i've seen too many bruised patches of powdercoat which have allowed water underneath. Looks OK on top, but.....i do most in baked enamel now or if the customer wants, nickel plate.
i suspect that in NZ most chairs will sit for longer between meetings than in the UK - and possibly get less maintenance too. If you're building a tube frame and worried about cracking, set it up with the appropriate valve etc to hold air pressure in the tubing. Makes cracks easy to find too.

Welcome aboard Steve, when are you and Jo popping over ?

Stripping the bike down between meetings? you'd be lucky if it's done between seasons

Couple of guys here tried. Simon Gilbert had a go with it and it just didn't work right in an outfit. Think that's the one Rod Robinson uses now at the brits.

Not a surprise. They're snatchy, and love to step a back wheel out as soon as ya look at the throttle. How Spies rode the Superbike I'll never understand...much the same way Milandri struggled with the concept I imagine.

from what I've read in this thread, the only stripping the Kiwis do between meetings involves goats or each other

Only sidecar I've been on with brake problems was when I raced with Murray Bowden at Ruapuna about 2003 on the bike Alex has now

Good pads, decent brake fluid and replace it each season as a minimum, and so long as a torque arm doesn't break or something you'll be sweet
