I've been watching Paul-in-NZ fight and lose the same battle since he swapped kayaking for mountain biking. It's mildly hilarious.

So like my old GSX1100f everyone on here kept calling a Katana.

Got into a few arguments at the barbeques when I decried such a suggestion due to the surplus of plastic.

Great all rounder but not a katana. Even if the factory paperwork said otherwise.

Stupid phone / Tapatalk, apologies in advance.

Surely someone has an aftermarket bolt on teapot>katana kit? Even to get it to look vaguely better?

(And for the record...they can certainly! still keep the modern bikes sweating on a twisty, bumpy NZ road)

Hands down, the BEST bike I have ever owned for daily use, abuse, fun and touring...and its does it all with a V4 growl to die for! (Once ya sort the muffler out lol)

-Look past the flash plastic modern bikes and start looking at the proven old school rides...they didn't get all those awards for nothing!, and there more bang for your buck!

...find me better all rounder!...I double dare ya!!
One of my guys has a pre vtec Viffer. Cool ride. I'd have one if I wiz downscaling.

Good enough for you Wheelie, easily good snuff for me.

The correct number of cycles to own is N+1, where N is the number of bikes you currently own.

Thus, I have 6 bikes, and 7 is the correct number to have. Until I have 7.

Yeah, but it's a cheap hobby, remember?

It can be a cheap hobby... if you can just control you urge to buy everything that you see that has an inflated price tag just because it has a picture of a bicycle on it... much like motorcycling like that.

I know I have spent too much at times, not enough at others.

Easy enough to blow 10k in a year on gear for either sport without buying any more bikes.
IF you are really honest about how competitive you are and what you will get out of it you can limit yourself to less than 1k a year.
Shit, I reckon I have about 10k of gear I have not got value from and will never get value from, and I am one of the stingier riders.

I have 3 bikes that could have won the TdF when new. Just not with my lardy arse on them.

Its always been a foible of mine. If I have time at weekends I head out on my cycles, not my motorcycle.

If you buy a teapot, I will come to Greytown and shoot you. I'm a sick prick and even I would think twice about buying one.

I assume your budget is around 4k?
Bandits are good at what they do, but like an award winning ladyboy, they're just not really that appealing. (or maybe... I dunno, half a doz of beer and I'd slam one)

Can you handle sitting on an RF? They're nice machines.
    GSX1400
I have to agree with Viffers, they're just excellent machines.
    Or a lowsided blackbird.
There was the GSX1200, a slightly less gay Bandit.
CB1000sf, nice bike, about the size of Mexico though.

GN250s are pretty sweet, I'll sell you mine.

The CB1000 is even more anodyne than a Hornet 900. GSX1200Y is a nice bike, much better than people think, with decent suspension and brakes. GSX1400s are not "nice".

    Fuck you're fussy.

Buy a VFR. We won't judge you, but it will improve your reach arounds.

Ohh I'm going to have to smack you, You're married to a lovely woman. Give yourself a good talking to.

a mate has had a VTR from new and it's been a great bike despite being a dirty 'onda. Dirt money for everything you really need. This coming from a Yamaha man. Unless you could find a nice RZ of course. . .,

I'd vote for the RF too, cheap, less ugly and decent engines..... The sidecar I swing for has an RF900 motor
