I'm gonna make the primary chain from the bike chain that was our old chain.

We'll use the chain pictured as our secondary still though I think.

Don't suppose anyone has a decent 7.2 20 13 slick lying around they don't need? Our chair tyre is a bit...erm...tired.

Thanks guys. Not the end of the world if we can't find one. Ours just has a slow leaking puncture that can't be fixed.

I'm not so sure I'd go as far as considering the pair of you great minds

When I ran a 250 Superkart approx 80hp and running similar size sprockets but with a slightly longer chain run with an average grade of chain I went through one a meeting, we stepped it up to the top grade Tsubaki and it lasted 4 meetings

Before I built the belt drive set-up for the Matchless it used to eat a primary chain every meeting and they weren't cheap old Renolds chains either. Tsubaki or RK and we replaced them over the weekend of the Classic Festival two day meetings and they were longer than Drews set-up, although his probably won't get as hot as ours did.

Ours also isn't spinning as fast as a crank driven primary. This is the output side of the gearbox remember.

The degradation of the chain is directly linked to the intake.
