Just got home, that was a great ride people.
Nice to meet new like minded riders.
Thanks for the comments Jeeron, they are appreciated, now just need to countersteer, brake before and through the corner and to tip in when required.
Its so nice to move all over the bike and be smooth. Your comments about having to really ride the bike sum it up for me.
When I started I was slow and got frustrated, having ridden a bigger bike since, its way easier. On the smaller bike, much more effort required.
Just need to get that control sorted and add about 20 kg more of gear and that shouldsort the bike out for what I had in mind on the longer trips.
I was testing it to see how it behaved under more load. It handled it quite nicely.
Kiwi_on_wheels nice to see the little things being done properly - It took me ages.

Cheers dude, probably my worst ride in terms of stalling, felt a bit like i was all over the place a bit, but being able to follow the wide lines around corners made a lot of sence, helped a lot cheers
And 4 action shots

Re: stalling, I find the easiest way to do it is . On the clutch lever there are two nuts that hold the cable in place unwind them or wind them till the lever goes tight to pull in . Them unwind it a bit till you can fit a coin in the lever and the perch it sits in . Start the bike and put it in first gear with the clutch all the way in and slowly let the lever out , you will feel the bike pick up the clutch from there you move the nut till when the lever is the right feel for you . Wind the bigger nut down the the perch to lock it in place . Job done . It may take a few goes to get the right feel for you . Me I like it disengaged with the lever on my knuckles and the bite point about 10mms from there . Hope the helps
Unfortunately with the aftermarket bars it's pulled the cable a long way, its wound in as short as it can go, but still bites just as its being pulled. need a longer clutch cable
Had to laugh to myself at 2 this morning about comments at the Pub:
-All of the bikes I have owned - I brought unridden, untested (bar 1 - Thanks SPOKES for that)
-I found with the Scorpio, I did need to ride it the 200 ks before the die release come off the tyre, and when it did I really noticed it so much more grip. Most likely because the bike is light, I dont ride like a maniac and it doesnt have much HP to scrub the tyres. And yes I had 2 punctures during that same running in time, so I was careful.
- I did wonder about the extra weight I had last night, sometimes the bike tended to side slightly both ways - I did check the tyre pressure before the ride, it was down, and I have just checked again, down slightly which is OK. I am thinking because I ride with the bike vertical almost all the time, even in corners, it might have been just the side edges wearing off - anyone else has any ideas
- xXGIGGABOXx & AWS good comments about the clutch stuff - I will check it out too
- I forgot to readjust the throttle cable yesterday before the ride, so much loose play I couldnt be sure went things were going to happen (Yamaha Manual says 3-5mm loose to avoid problems when turning the handlebars) I prefer much less
- Jeeron "Action Shots" I didnt know the pictures/video you were taking were so good resolution. I am Impressed by what I saw, no not by the rider in front of you.
- I have been wondering about getting a camera which also has a rear camera as well - just thinking about it. Any suggestions.
It was a great night and ride. esp liked the tart![]()

Usually the bar length wouldn't make any difference to the cable pull as it's the difference between the cable inside and the outer sheath that creates the pull. If the whole cable was too short, you wouldn't be able to turn the bars to full lock on the left hand side.
Happy New yeah! Peeps
