* There was an election to see who would be "involved" but then there were meetings (of politicians only) to decide who "became" the government!

It might come as a shock to you, but doctors aren't entirely disinterested in how health dollars are spent. In many cases that more or less disqualifies them from holding a credible opinion on the topic.

He's on the money about foreign nationals spending up large on local taxpayers heath budgets though, health "holidays" are endemic here too.

No doubt, but how else are people supposed to get treated when it's cheaper to travel to the u.k. to receive treatment than it is to seek treatment in their own country? Something slightly wrong there and I know what it is

I know several consultants, for example who are paid by a health board for a full time position, and yet they have a consultancy earning more than their full time wages. Spot the discrepancy.

Woooooooah, hang on there. You're saying that the doctors don't deserve it? and I'm assuming that they work as a consultant and should also be paid for it? That discrepancy?

Irony overload given the above. No treatment is being denied. Sure it may make waiting lists a little longer, but hey, what's a little queue jumping when a person is in desperate need of treatment... especially considering the private insurance customers and practitioners getting priority use of public services. Maybe they should wait in the queue like everyone else?
