Priorities.
The -35 has just got clearance for the JMMBRU bomb rack for the SDB.
Integrating systems is more complex and as an example, just look at the Apache and the sighting/control system that uses. Now couple that with the $1million helmet used by the pilot on the -35 and the complexity grows.

All systems are labelled "dogs" by those without much knowledge (the media) in the initial stages of development and deployment to the forces. The -35 can manoeuvre better than an f-16 and is limited by the grey gooey blob up-front.

I think someones deliberately sabotaged the f35 project. Its hard to tell if its foreign power or rival manufacturer/pro drone crowd etc......
Just because soemthign has an overinflated price doesn't make it harder to work out or fix. The basic problem is the yanks cant build shit these days except for cool mountain bikes
