These suits are pretty good for the price. Mate went for a slide at HD wearing one and it held up nicely.

Is there? That is new....
Well done on making the step to the race Track. I guess you see my point that the path isn't exactly easy if you aren't in the know?
Well done to Shaun from Moto-Dynamics for guiding you through it too. Thanks for that Shaun.
If you ever want to make a big weekend of it and bring your bike down to Manfeild for something different, look up www.vicclub.co.nz
We run a series over the winter.... I see ?Hamilton do too now, but there are plans a foot to work with each other rather than against each other this year and in the future.
Another good place for leathers is www.qmoto.co.nz
And yes, good boots are a MUST! Cheaper ones are only crashable once...
We are working on that at the moment Shaun.
Hopefully we get something public out there soon....
The days are already booked at Manfeild , it is just a matter of which ones we use for the racing rounds (he says trying not to give too much away as the plan we have hasn't been approved by the committee yet). Sadly Manfeild won't even put them in their calendar until we approve them.....
SUSHI, sorry forgot to say, you will also require a back protector, which are also availlable through the link as posted re leathers on here, this one, http://www.torpedo7.co.nz/products/3...n-leather-suit-- they use them for sking protection and are dam cheap compared and are very good.
I have a brand new back protector for sale, Forcefield brand. The best in the market.
PM me if interested.

Already have decent AlpineStars gloves. However my helmet has a slide and click latch rather than the motorcross style twin hoop and strap (No idea of the proper names for these haha) Is that acceptable for the track? I have heard of these not being accepted.
I'd suggest you make a start reading the MNZ rules (while that are not flash they should answer most of the basic questions). - really important to read and attempt understand 3,4,6,8,10.
http://www.mnz.co.nz/regulations/rules
Helmets. Start in chapter 8 (8.1.3 references 8.2) read this and check your helmet conforms to the required standard I.e AS/NZS 1698:2006 (check the rules if your helmet doesn't have this standard printed). No constraints around clips as long as it conforms to safety standards.
Helmet latch is fine, but I personally think they are not as safe as a twin hoop style as you explain. ( extreme yes, but it is possible in a fluke situation for dirt etc to un hook those latches I reckon) Your helmet will or should have a safety code sticker as such on the back of it or inside it near the strap locations inside it, check the code number written down in there and on the back to confirm it is an approved helmet. How old is the helmet currently and what brand model. post up a pic of sticker on back or numbers written inside it, that way I or some one who know,s can confirm it is Safety approved for racing.
Step one is complete!

Now for the Club membership and Licence and then the task of getting gear.
Not going to be the fastest process seeing as I'm 18 and earning 4 fifths of F.A but if I chip away I'm sure ill be on the track before I know it.
Good work Buddy, shame there were not many more young men like you out there asking the questions and listening and acting upon them. Every one of us has to start some where, and that class and the 250 prod class and the Pro twins is deff affordable with proper budgeting planning put in place.
Plesae keep me linked into your RACE REPORTS which you WILL release for all to read mate. Now I reccomend you google and purchase a book called " A twist of the wrist" By Keith code, He has written many since this one, but this one is the real deal, the others are just exstensions of the original to earn more money for him. That was my bible when I started, and up till my last race ever, I still applied a lot of the info from it.
You need to Write down, record every single thing you do to the bike and your riding changes as future data for your self to follow and learn and grow from. Draw out track layout images, and after practise when you have a lap time, go through each corner on the paper and ( Always fault yourself first) write down what you think you could do differently to get through it smoother and faster, then facture in what amount of time it will gain you, once all corners are dealt with in this manner, you will now have your ultimate goal lap time in your own head to chase. And we do not lie to ourselves eh.
If having difficulties on track, DO NOT try and put together a perfect lap, choose one or 2 turns to work on first only, that will give you enough head space to take in more reference points etc, Skid marks on the ground from a car, Painted poles at side of track etc, always use FIXED reference points that cannot be moved obviously. Fast corners are the best ones to concentrate on first, as you go fast in the fast ones, and slow in the slow ones, so time gain is obvioulsy easier to achieve from a fast turn.
