The one thing I have been waiting for in CHCH (Since the quake!...only 4yrs now)...TURN FUCKING ARROWS!!

Traffic routes have changed since the quake, and low volume streets are now carrying high volume traffic...yet the local council etc are STILL to spot the glaring problem and upgrade the lights on said streets....so presently there is no turn arrow on most of these new high usage roads, and due to the volume of traffic, ONE!! vehicle is able to turn across traffic flow during the green (if there lucky!)....and the rest, get to sit there through 4-7 light changes awaiting there shot at making a safe turn. (and orange/red light runners make this move pritty bloody dangerous as well)

...clear evidence of a lack of focus on REAL road safety -(How fucking hard is it to spot such a BLATANT problem with traffic flow, and have turn lights installed)

Now add on all the pot holes, shitty broken roads, road blocks & diverts, cones everywhere, poor traffic lights and a generally fucked up city...and you can "kinda" understand the increased roadrage and red light runners etc in ChCh presently (It certainly keeps ya on your toes!)

I said at the time that studies had shown that stress peaked about 3 years after an event like the quakes. No one has yet to my knowledge quantified just how long the peak stress lasts...Given people are angry,and oh yes they are...it's generally safer to vent from inside a car than face to face...

Finely signed of a job that we have been battling with for some time, in the nui, now this prick had holes kicked and bashed in every room, 2 bedrooms had sections of gib cut out so they could put their empty beer cans on the dwang... we fixed that only cos there was a slight crack in a wall that 'may' have been the quake, we dont price to repair delebrate damage but we have to.

Same cunt, got a new fire out of us cos it was a rebrick due to a couple a broken bricks that you cant get anymore, round the fire there was no framing, we had to put framing in which ment the fire wouldent fit so new fire, ohh no old harth wouldent fit so new harth new tiles, cunt complained a tile was crocked so at our cost it was re tiled (thing is they were stuck over the old harth so they followed the same line, ie: allways crocked.

The fuker took the house key to the shaged old lock (thats age not quake) he said if some ones got it they can get in... yip new lock charged to us... I could go on and on about this guy and hes just another one of many...

Broken drain, fair nuff we repaired got paid for that... then he wanted a new lawn cos it had been trampled (give it a month and water it be back) noo to sign off and us get paied he wanted a new lawn, he got it, on us.

Light switchs smashed, not the fucking quake, well as we have to remove them to repaint thats cool but the law says we cant put it back, so we replaced most switchs etc in the house, on us.

This lazy shit, would come in the house and leave notes for us like and I quote "what a fucking mess" un quote... the new fire was nicely sealed back to the new tiles, he dug out the sealent in a corner and and left a not saying "redo fire no selent"

BUT... I got the arse hole, nicked his dope plants and put em in a red bin and watche the rubbish truck take em away... yeah spose ya right hes got a right to be angry

you don't have this on your own, I do work for a guy who makes massive mistakes and shortcuts, then won't pay when we have to redo/repair his mistakes (he's a designer) drawings never up to date. Makes changes all the way thru projects often adds 2 weeks work and if it doesn't work blames all round him or buggers off overseas and we have to make the crap work.
