I was out in the middle of fucking nowhere today by myself in the 4x4 and snapped a universal joint in the driveshaft. Would have been no one for miles to hear me bitch, and no ph reception even if I wanted to cry to someone about it, or call AA or some other fucker to come and rescue me.
Couple of bolts, some wire and a big fat doobie got my ass home.
Think I might leave it like that until the next wof, should give them a giggle at the VTNZ.

Not where I was and the rain we had, 2 wheel drive would have seen me walking out, and I had my gumboots on, not my hiking boots.

    Dear Aunty Tazz,

How the fuck does that work if the cunts I'm referring to are the same age as myself?

    Curious, from Huka Falls.

Just cover the last 3 words with a tea cup or your favorite doily.

After you've finished, deft hands and your doily can also be used to McGuyver those dentures you knocked off the bedside table out from behind the bed.

    Better living everyone,

    Aunty Tazz.

    I've seen a drive-shaft on a 4 X 4 made from a square section PTO shaft!

And the owner thought it was OK for general driving...

You don't hear about the guys that sort their shit out and carry on because there is nothing to bleat about, where as the odd Transalp rider that does the wrong bleating you'll never forget (and what age were they anyway?).

Seriously, it is a sign you are getting old (a rite of passage I guess), and I mean no offence, it happens to everyone.
Do you not remember old men back in your day talking about how useless your generation was? Never ending cycle. I'd be you're more mechanically minded that your folks too.

Same with the hipster 'roughing it with cocktail waiters' bike camps. Shit like that has always been around in one form or another. It's nothing new..

    Are you a cricket umpire?

I seem to remember a certain curious cricket umpire was last seen going white water rafting without the raft at Huka falls.

Hey, Peter Plumly-Walker was a black belt in white water stuff.

    Until the Huka Falls incident...

It's all that electronic shit. Anti wheelie this, slipper clutch that. Modern riding is point and squirt, thus fuck all for the owner to twiddle with other than tyre pressures.

Some don't even change their own oil!
