Incorrect, if you borrow money I'm afraid you are very much a loan.

If you wish to remain independent with no responsibility to anyone then you probably shouldn't make promises that require you to commit a significant part of your life to fulfil. Eh?

Whining about it after the fact is just pathetic.

Who borrows money? Oh you mean the entity who's name is scrawled on my birth certificate... in which case, none of use are loans.

Remain independent? ... no man is an island... and those who think they are are plain fuckin stupid.

What? Whining once you realise you've been swindled should not be encouraged? Typical BSOWMF response and the irony is astounding given the way you crack on about monopolies n shit. Now, that is pathetic.

The people who's signature appears on loan agreements. If you don't legally exist then you wouldn't get a loan anyway, if you do and you've signed that scrawl on a loan agreement then you are most definitely required to do what you agreed to do whether you think so or not.

But some of us are more free than others. Notably those who owe money to others are not free to decline repayment.

Swindled? You didn't agree to borrow the money? What's pathetic is whining because you don't want to honour your end of a deal you happily signed up to.

Of course you can get a loan if you don't legally exist... it's how the entire system works as all legally existing persons are nought more than a set of numbers and the odd piece of paper. Perhaps you mean the agent that signs the loan agreement for the person. There is no legal obligation for the agent to pay that money back, only a moral one.

Funny, I believe some person's actually haggle in order to repay that which they can afford on not that which was on the original agreement.

It's not the money we've been swindled out of (more assumptions, really). bwaaaaaaaa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha haaaaaaa there's a difference between wanting and being able to and there's also a difference between being happy to sign and being left very little to no choice to sign... but hey, that simply doesn't fit your worldview... and whilst utterly pathetic, I understand that view having once held it. I learned otherwise.

Teens arrested after elderly man tied up... all for the love, well, necessity of money. Yes, I take my share of the blame for allowing such a system to be in place so that acts such as these can occur.

Italy rocked by deadly court shooting... who'd have thought a respected businessman would go to such lengths to not want to repay their loans.

    Bullshit.

And still have to repay the debt.

So you had no choice other than to borrow money? More bullshit.

Well if you look at it from the bigger picture that money, no matter how much "yours" it is, is borrowed. The money you have has to be paid back; It was lent out at a value higher than it claims so people like you could have it.
End of day you have borrowed money whether you're the one who borrowed it or not

Eh? The money I have isn't borrowed from anyone.

I "own" a tiny portion of whatever public debt we currently have. Outside of that, personally I owe nobody a cent.

You were able to get that money because it was borrowed, like I said maybee not by you but it is borrowed money.

Even if you pay cash for your house and are debt free - your local body will be borrowing money for which you are liable - like it or not! (Rates!)

Then there is the government borrowing money for which you are liable - like it or not! (Taxation!)

Then if you die your estate had better have enough to cover your burial costs! (Can't afford to live - can't afford to die!)

Nope. My actual money is actually money, it isn't associated with any debt or attached to any asset. It's debt only so far as the NZRB agrees to honour the bearer etc.

If the council borrows money that's not what your rates are for, in theory they're payment for council services.

Same with tax, only a tiny portion of it goes to repay govt debt, the majority goes on supplying govt services.
