They were 3 times more expensive than my current insurance with kiwibike. Also they don't cover gear as previously said. Couldn't even get a reply back from them asking why they're 3 times more expensive

Tried to get an online quote from them the other day. Ended up on the phone to someone rather than a quick estimate like I hoped. after what seemed like 30 secs they are asking for my credit card number and won't go away. Turns out kiwibike would do a higher level of coverage (ie comprehensive vs 3Rd party fire abs theft) for about the same price and I got a nice email the next day with an even better rate offered and better premium. Haven't sorted the policy out yet but so far I much prefer them to youi.

As others have already stated, you'll get what you pay for. I have had nothing but positive service at a fair rate from Dave @ www.kiwibike.co.nz - That would be my recommendation.

    Likewise.

I have never read more numerous, scathing comments directed towards a single company. Mostly to do with their attitude when it comes time to claim and the methods they use to sign you up (things like requiring credit card details for a quote and enacting a policy before the OK was given).

My immediate reaction when I first saw their ad. was that their model invalidated the whole point of insurance. Which is, in the absence of any real community, to spread the risk across the "community" that is the insurance companies clients.

YOUI are just the modern version of snake oil salesmen and should be avoided like the plague.

What kind of tard would give their credit card number for a quote? Don't even need to give your real address or name.

Agree wholeheartedly. My concern is that if you get a quote based on "I always park in a locked, alarmed garage that doubles as a kennel for 6 rottweilers" and your bike get's lifted from the front of a motel unit in BFE while you are on a charity ride, then where do you stand?

Their advertising simply puts me off.
