if rego expired today, you'll pay current rate as its before 1 july.

if you pay rego till like 28th july, then went back in after the 1st to extend it, it'd be cheeper.

Yes, you can buy as much as you want... the name of the form escapes me, DR27, DL27 maybe?

On the form you actually state your new expiry (as long as it's beyond your current expiry) and the cost is calculated.

Maybe its because I would survive but have to take some time off work.
Need A car that's certain death to get the cheap rate most likely.
Somehow my Peugeot 306 clubhack is a 4 and my old Volvo 850 is a 2 I don't get it.

Nice theory, but in practice seems a bit skewiff.

Take our car for example. We have an 06 Outback for family wagon duties. It has a bunch of three letter acronyms, and the optional airbag package (head and curtains). We bought it because at the time it was the highest-scoring vehicle ANCAP had tested.

Apparently it's as safe as the previous model would be with driver/passenger only airbags and no ANCAP test whatsoever.

Suppose I can't complain, it is in the cheapest band.

At least most of the Great Wall shit has terrible results though, maybe that'll stop people buying the fucking things.

Interesting having a flick thru there. Must admit that the car rego is something I don't pay much attention to, it's way cheaper than the bike anyway. Anything left over at the end of the week is just spent on loose women and booze, that must've been the source of the OPs complaint too...

I was worried my wagon might default to the priciest option as very little crash data is available and it only has two front airbags, ABS and maybe yaw control going by the last gravel road drive I did
A Japanese market only model 3.5L 200kw but gets the cheapo $64 levy Maybe they felt guilty about using a Stagea in that 107k stop sign ad...

    Well. There's a surprise.
My renewal arrived in the mail and I have to pay a whole $138- for a years rego for the tin-top.
I must check up on what I paid last year, but this sounds rather cheap.

yep your right about the old car one of my workmates bought a early falcon it was a xw or xy bought for the body panels to repair a rusty GT. car had hit a bridge on the left hand side right on the end of the front chassis rail
driver was belted in but very dead, car had plenty of straight panel still on it. no crumple zones to adsorb the energy of the crash = driver becomes crumple zone which don't work to well.
