Yet again the yanks take action in another jurisdiction only to protect their sacred dollar.
FIFA is a Swiss based organisation -none of their bloody business

Brits, South Americans and Europeans play football. Yanks don't play much football or bother to watch it so why are they intervening in someone else's sport? $$$$$

Like all the wars they step in to play the good sheriff, they only do so if there's an ulterior motive or cash benefit for themselves. In this case the US based Media moguls have no doubt been moaning in the Feds ears that those greedy Europeans are not playing ball so can Uncle Sam red card them.

Personally I don't follow football or give a damn about how it's H.O. operates. Nor should the US Feds.

Blowing things up outwith their country doesn't have as profound an effect on their population as within their country

Be sure if Blatter is returned - NZ soccer is not going to get any special favours again now are they!

Edit: Sepps back! - And he knows where we live - and how we (NZ soccer) voted! - This may not end well.

I thought it was - maybe from the combined mental images of a penalty box theatrical dive with old men in suits shouting: "REF!"

Stand in one of the grandstands of a British football match (any division) and watch the piss flow down the concrete, you'll have confirmation of your answer!

The investigations stem from bribes accepted by Chuck Blazer as head of CONCACAF, which is the body in charge of US, Canadian and Carribean football and is based in Miami.

The Yanks also take the view, that if money is laundered through their banking system, then you've committed a crime in their jurisdiction.

Brits, South Americans and Europeans play football. Yanks don't play much football or bother to watch it so why are they intervening in someone else's sport? $$$$$
It's actually growing strongly with kids and women. 30% of American families have someone playing the game, which is second only to baseball.

Not surprising really. Do you reckon Sepp could get away with deciding where any World Cup is to be held by not asking the question, "So, how did you guys come to the conclusion that Qatar, that exceptionally well known footballing nation, was the best place to hold the World Cup?"?

A financial penalty, pun intended, for a financial crime. Wet bus tickets all round.
