Finally after the worlds longest foreplay Honda have launched the RC213V-S. They will make one per day until the end of next year.
They are a snip at only 188,000 Euros. That's over NZ300,000 dollars, about the same as my house.

And if I win lotto I'll buy one.
Lastly the figure you’ve all be waiting for: out of the box, the Honda RC213V is will make a disappointing 157hp at the 11,000 rpm-spinning crank, but with the sports kit installed, that figure will get bumped to over 210hp. Peak torque is set at 75 lbs•ft at 10,500 rpm, with the sports kit lifting that figure to over 87 lbs•ft.
It should be noted, that those figures are for the European (except France), Japanese, and Australian markets…for the United States, the Honda RC213V-s will be tuned for 101hp at 8,000 rpm (66 lbs•ft of torque) — a figure the bike will be stuck at, since the sport kit is not available to the US market.
Once purchased, the machines must be stored indoors, in a controlled environment. They also must be serviced by specially certified Honda dealerships, who will have the necessary training and tools to service the high-maitenance street bike.
GHEY.
Rather have a Superleggera

Heh.
"Profits are down, and we're hurting for some easy cash."
"Screw it, lets just bore out a VFR800 and bang on some fancy fairings and exhaust pipes, better throw in a Trailtech and lower clip-ons for good measure."
All of this "closest thing to a GP bike" malarkey has had me laughing for a while. HRC won't give away any of their secrets to half their own technicians, much less the riders, much much less sell them to the public. Even the RCV213-RS team owners don't get to own their own bikes for a few years.
You think about the amount of already-built specials that that money could buy you... Spondon RG500s... an OWO2.. etc etc.
Of course none of that matters because despite the beeeeeauuutiful complete collections that kind of money could buy you, none of them would include an RCV213-S, so they're still gonna sell. Good! Keeps the economy moving.
New Yamaha R1 = the real deal. Not this disappointing bike.
A $300k flagship model gets outpowered by their own $18k CBR600RR...
If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.
...Been waiting so many years for the new sport VFR...and all they deliver is fail!
Wheres the gear driven cams?....wheres the sexy single sided swing arm?...and where's the competitive HP??
...bloody glad they didn't use the VFR model name for this over priced boring plastic wannabe!![]()
When Life thows me a curve
...I lean into it!
If they sent it out full HP they would need supply 18 different swingarms and 13 frames to try. Easier just to drop the power down so the chassis works.
Spend up and support Honda so they can afford a bike development rider though.

They'll sell 'em all, they'll become incredibly collectable and worth moonbeams. NR750 anyone?
