The blue gang break the law every day, from speeding to planting evidence and all points in between.
But because they are the current gang employed to enforce our laws no one ever finds out until a third (independant) party gets involved then da da!

I'd have a problem with faked search warrants to raid a suspect's property, but what they did was get the Undercover to rent a storage unit, which they faked a search warrant to raid as a way of building his credibility. I don't have a problem with that at all.

Hardly surprising, given that the judiciary seem think that the worst crime it's possible to commit is "contempt of court"...so yeah, chuck the case out because a couple of judges were made to look a bit silly because they thought that the prosecution of the Undercover was real.

"Contempt of Court" is one of the worst crimes - as it shows contempt for the legal authority of this country ...

The Police show contempt for the legal authority of this country - that is not a good thing ..

I do. It makes them criminals, just like the people they're after. As they'll tell you when they give you a ticket for going 105kph...the law is the law.

I see both sides of the argument - and I tend to side with the above - the Police should at all times adhere to the letter of the law. That said - issuing a 'search warrant' for a police owned asset (well, owned by the undercover agent) is a different ball game to planting evidence and framing someone - and although I conceded the slippery slope argument, I don't think that the uproar over this is inline with the amount of overstep made by the Police.

There is a seperate argument that goes along the lines that if the police are being hampered by the law when trying to enforce, then the law may need to be updated.

When I see some of the cock ups committed by the police, I really question the depth and professionalism of their training.

It's just what happens when you 'clamp down' and shit all over people for minor mistakes for to long, and then make a cock up yourself.

Under reaction if you ask me as despite whatever 'good intentions' they had we are so often told by them that excuses and/or ignorance of their rule book don't cut it.

Absolutely it should - there are numerous laws which are out-dated and could do with a re-write or at the very least a re-think.
