What a shock to read this. Thank goodness you are ok. One thing you absolutely MUST do tomorrow. Get yourself to a physiotherapist and make an ACC claim. I imagine you are feeling a whole heap worse today, even if you are not, go lodge an ACC claim. May as well get your levy back at least.

Necks are funny things, they can give you shite years after an injury. Please, please do that eh?

As far as work goes, ummmm. Take care matey.

    Bugger.

If you have insurance put a claim in, at least you get someone qualified to look things over and you're not out of pocket for fixing the thing. I did this when my dirty old Terrano got rear ended, was all good except for a rear bumper realignment, but didn't want to rock up to next WOF and find something was fucked. And the silly bitch that abused the missus afterwards got to pay her excess as punishment for not paying attention, so all good.

It's called covering your arse, ACC and insurance claims put it on record so if/when shit turns up later you're not left hanging out to dry.

Another commentary on our society, I've got a dashcam in my car now, because I've found out the hard way that when you have an accident people (and their mates who are with them) tell lies.

and if your injured and you think nah I will be ok, then a month or two later crap starts to happen, then its on record too.
They cant put it down to old age or RSI etc and fob you off.

I went and got an ACC # AFTER I WAS TOLD TO by a mate I know who suffered by not getting an ACC # and crap did happen 3 weeks later.

Not sure I have reached that place yet. I have thought about it given the piss poor driving skills of some people I see out on the highways. Then I think about all the mistakes I make when driving...

Everyone makes mistakes, when I do I'm more than willing to give an apologetic wave rather than the unlease the torrent of abuse that seems to be more common these days.

What did it for me was pulling over to let someone pass on a single lane road, and having a twat lock it up and slide into me, only to have him and his mate make statements to the insurance company that it was my fault. As the audit boss at work always says, 'evidence, show me the evidence'

All I can say is hopefully you have no long-lasting after-effects from the crash AND that you get a job soon - and one that you like!

Being made redundant makes you strong and shows you a new direction. Sometimes it takes a while to find that direction. It sucks at first, but for all the times I have been made redundant (3) it has improved my life immensely for the better.

Not good at all Willy. Get your Doc to check you out thoroughly and explain to him why you can't do your job because of the neck pain. He will then put it in as an ACC claim and they might pay you for loss of income for a short while. This could cover you until your next employment. After all, you have paid more than enough on ACC premiums through your bike registration over the years.
