Cool Is the Piaggio Fly 150cc LAMS approved?

    Hey everyone

Question: Is the Piaggio Fly 150cc LAMS approved?

Ive been riding around on my L's for..ahem, ages. Time to get my Restricted licence. I checked out the NZTA list of LAMS approved bikes but can't see mine in the approved or prohibited list. (maybe the site is playing up because both lists looked the same to me lol) Any thoughts?

    Thanks

    Thanks!
If it is UNDER 250 cc ... and NOT on the banned list ... it IS approved for learner riders.

I do not recall seeing it on the banned list ... so yes it will be approved.

Yeah thats what I thought..then last week I was pulled up during a licence rego check, and the cop reckoned my scooter wouldn't be LAMS approved due to it not being a real bike..with gears in all

Sound like you met a cop that doesn't know his arse from his elbow. Probably in 100% of countries on the planet that bike would be learner approved.

Surely it must be silly question day.

Every bike of 250 or less is LAMS approved by default unless it is on the prohibited list.

Check the prohibited list. I think you'll find your 150 ain't on it.

Nah I think the word FLY in the name of the two wheeled vehicle in question is akin to putting a TURBO sticker on a Yaris isn't it?

Just to make a wild guess, it's 150cc scooter, you'll need a downhill run and a tailwind to bust the open road limit, so consider it LAMS approved

    Thanks guys.

No need to be rude Rastuscat.
As I said before, I checked the list after the cop said it wasn't approved, but the website must have been playing up because both LAMS lists were the same. Hence my asking here. If you think its a stupid question, then get off my thread.

Hey Caspernz, lol yes its a 150cc scooter Actually you would be surprised how well it goes..considering lol It's proudest moment was passing a Harley on the motorway.

There is a good video of a 125 or 150cc scooter beating a field of 1000cc bikes around a, albeit small, race track

Despite what they say around here, anything with an engine can be fun.

Actually it wouldn't be learner legal in the U.K. The laws in the U.K. are draconian. Designed to prevent people getting on bikes IMO.

Here is the link to the rules and simple they ain't!

It doesn't count when it's going in the opposite direction.
