    Anyway.

There was a lot of positives from the day. The chair handles much better with the longer swinging arm and new shock. Takes a lot more effort to get the chair wheel off the ground now, hopefully that means there's more speed in the lefts as well as the new grip on rights.

The brakes work better now, we just need to adjust lever ratio to get a bit more braking power.

Just gets too hot. The industrial chain we dummied on there and hadn't changed lasted three laps. We chucked a decent chain on it but it still got real warm, so to stay safe we'll go back to the original system and try to position an idler to keep the length right when the suspension compresses.
Told ya to have a look at the ATK system of idlers - it works on long travel dirt suspension so it should have an easier time on your short travel setup.

Edit - why bother with a tensioner ? Warwick's posted pics of 600's with enormous chain runs where the arm is only about half the span of the chain...i'm assuming the suspension only has minimal movement, say 1 - 1 1/2 inches. might not be a problem at all.

We've got no tensioner at the moment, and it would be fine. But without the primary chain the front sprocket is too high compared to the swingarm pivot. Like, two inches too high. It's one of the many draw backs of a huge touring bike lump.

That's kinda not the best solution.

We thought about an oil bath for the primary chain, but there's that pesky issue of 100% containment.

After Wanganui, we're gonna move the swingarm pivot or find a Gixxer thou to drop in it I reckon.

Once a common creature in this environment the speckled peaking shortbike welder is now almost extinct, due to the being picked off by the gayfag long bike buyer. now only a few hardy old males remain.

The question is, are we happy to suppose that our grandchildren may never be able to see a shortbike, except in a picture book?

The only way to save a shorty is to save the environment in which it lives, because there's a mutual dependency between it and multitudes of other species of both racers and spectators alike for which entertainment prevails.
