True statement here......An ADV sticker on a Power rangers R1 parked in the pit shed at Manfield may look a bit silly though even if the rider is on his own "Adventure" and is bound to attract a ribbing from his mates or god forbid leather tasseled and studded saddlebags on a DR650.

There are some unwritten rules when it comes to sticking to your chosen biker discipline.

Yeh? Na. Assumptions are not good.

    Have bike, will travel.

I would love to see a new Dominator, nevertheless. The old one was all about inappropriate fun.

I don't think a photo of a sport bike down a track I could get my Camry down would be considered ADV in some circles...

And I don't think even half of the guys who whine about such things could survive rocking about the globe on a bike like that

And those circles can think what they like while being wrong according to the marketers who created the 'buzz' word/phrase that is 'adventure riding' and has always been based around big bikes and what is essentially 'light' offroad touring.
'Dual sport' bikes are what those circles are most likely getting mixed up with.

At the end of the day it is something that doesn't really matter to anyone that isn't a pedantic mother fucker with too much spare time or insecurity issues about their own bikes and riding choices

Purely from the perspective that someone with a sports bike at a track may be having much grubbier adventures on it. As you say, an adventure is a personal thing. Not knockin, bikers get up to some very inappropriate things.

You see George......Now this is an Assumption ......Some good points on the dual sport/adv thing though.
Modern 'Dual sport' and 'Adventure' terms are more Long way down than Mondo Enduro and Cycles south oldies.

Heh. And yup, dual sport for the win. Now, what about that new Dommi? I'm over big singles and would rather have a little twin.

Summit like this would be a good starting point.
