Check the mcleod tax report its referenced in there. I think the report said it was time to lay off the smokers they already pay enough. That was about 15 years ago.

Smokers contribute far more than they'll ever get back from smoking related health issues because lung cancer is quick and efficient at doing its job. There's no languishing away for years on a hospital bed for them off they are unlucky enough to get cancer.

in the first bit you seem to be saying smoking=cancer then you go on to say it's about luck?

(it doesn't cause cancer. At all)

    Only if you smoke Camels.

    Ronnie lived a long time.
DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.

You have gone from ''Actually'' to ''I believe it was'' that's not supplying the source of your original statement is it?

Then non-smokers should accept that we don't really give a fuck about them either ...

Not the point - the point of the tax is to make us stop smoking ...

If we all do stop smoking then the Government will lose about $1billion a year in income .. but they don't care ..

Why do you think English is grinning ? It's a win - win for him.

He's seen to be doing his best to stop smoking - but knows there's still enough hooked to fill the tax coffers nicely....
