I would money on a podium finish for Rossi even if he were to start from 20th... not forgetting Vinales finishing 3rd from grid position 13.

    Some horrible crashes in Moto3.
Moto2 was actually worth watching, hope Luthi snatches the crown from Zarco, he's been close many times.
Shame asparagus buffed it, he was looking good. Shame he's only just got the bike sussed and will say goodbye to it next year.

I have to say it's been tough backing him, but I've been hoping he'd come good. He's the Mrs favourite.

Looks like he's started to get the package working a bit better for him.

So who's going to get Dan's seat when it comes up eventually? Miller or Crutchlow. Not sure what the feeling at Honda must be like for miller?

They'll want someone who can score points regularly, as winning the manufacturer's title is very important to the Jap teams. Yes, they'll be very pissed off with Miller taking out Nicky when he was poised to score some good points.

I wouldn't be surprised if next year is Dani's last year, unless he can get the Michelins to work for him.

So that's it for Suzuki's testing/development consessions. The bike is proven and competitive, Iannone for a podium championship next year!

The Poms on Twitter were vocal with the idea that it shoulda been CC who got Pedro's bike at PI. Crutchlow is sponsored by Monster, Team Repsol by Red Bull so no chance of that.

Wouldn't have made much difference anyway Crutchlow's bike is now apparently very little different to the Repsol bikes.

As Oxley and others were saying though, Phillip Island is more about riders than bikes. Bravery and skill on the part of the rider play a bigger part there. So the finishing order of the riders is a better indication than the finishing order of the machinery.

Which is not to say that iannone will not be competitive on the Suzuki. The more at the sharp end, the betterer for us.

If I had a pick before the race it could only have been MM. Just shows what I know.

Crutchlow deserved that win. Didn't put a foot wrong and had speed and confidence all weekend. VR and Vinales coming through from the back(ish) made for an entertaining race. Moto2 and 3 were brilliant (except for the nasty crashes and "bumping" off track)

Roll on Sepang. Marquez for pole anyone?

He's signed till end of 2018 dude, considering he was the favourite to win at Motegi before he crashed I would think he's got them working now.

Crutchlow is too old and not as fast as Dani so I highly doubt he would be taking in his seat. Miller or Rins are my picks. Rabat hasn't shown any signs of stepping up yet unfortunately

Meh - I was going to pick JL, but I had no funds in my TAB account.
I took that as a warning...

Am I remembering wrong or does CC always do well on a wet/damp track?

Also Harris I think mentioned that CC is contracted to LCR, not Honda.

    Remembering wrong.

Somebody posted a list on Twitter this morning, a short list; Brits who have won two or more premier class GPs in a season.

The list looked something like this:

    Les Graham
    Geoff Duke
    John Surtees
    Mike Hailwood
    Phil Read
    Barry Sheene
    Cal Crutchlow

Crutchlow probably won't be too offended to be added to that list.

    (Added Phil Read)
