    A system designed and built for morons to swallow. Ironically, it's a Targeted Basic Income, not a UNIVERSAL one. Shows you how ill educated the morons actually are.

    It's fuck all, just what they contribute, so just what they deserve. Saving a bit in admin overheads is all good.

    More importantly though, it means they can earn a smidge more by contributing even a little bit, and be rewarded for it.

    They already get that. Saving a bit on admin will be swallowed up by the implementation costs of a new system, and some. So it's not fuck all... not even in the slightest. Let alone that the people that administrate the system are gonna be made redundant, which will lower the overall tax take and I et they'll be real happy to take a huge drop in salary so that they too can be a part of the TBI experiment.

    Aha, a business subsidy by any other name. You seem to fit the description of the afore mentioned swallowing moron. Til then, as per usual, send the self-inflated egotistical red that you feel you need to feel superior. And remember, it's not about you, it's about logic, reason and common sense. Should you trip over some on the way to enlightenment, please feel free to come back and try again, son.

    without even reading the link. A few questions arise?

    If this is a form of Keynesian economics , ( someone wades in with cash and ideas until the situation improves. The ideas are ok , but if you start doling out cash under a fiat currency system. Then the debt must rise making the situation worse.

    If everyone has a basic income, who controls that income ? Should we dig Lenin up and ask him for some pointers? Just rely on the ministry of truth....

    Until the basic fundamentals are addressed ( money based on surplus not debt ) , its just painting a turd yellow and saying look how wonderful I am

    Or they have a manual they are copying from;

    The novel is set in Airstrip One (formerly known as Great Britain), a province of the superstate Oceania in a world of perpetual war, omnipresent government surveillance, and public manipulation, dictated by a political system euphemistically named English Socialism (or Ingsoc in the government's invented language, Newspeak) under the control of a privileged elite of the Inner Party, that persecutes individualism and independent thinking as "thoughtcrime."[3]

    Learns maths dude, taxation is part of earnings, making people redundant from govt paid jobs loses tax (part), but also mean the govt doesn't have to pay that wage (whole). Which do you think is bigger, the part or the whole

    Business subsidy? How so?

    You'll get your red at the normal time I'd expect, when you run out of blither and find some lame as shit cop-out...

    Akzle was closest... but with a little bit of robbery thrown in for good measure. Think pension funds etc... in regards to kicking it all off. And yeah, then you've got the how to fund it in the golden age of technological unemployment i.e. less working people = less taxation to fund it (LVT the likely candidate to fill that void). Then that leads to your other question, who controls the income. A Sili con Valley experiment is using private funding. And that's about it in a nutshell. Something for morons to swallow coz it can be packaged and sold in such a way that it looks nice and shiny on the surface. Not to mention it's politically expedient coz it'll be fair, morons utter this (see above), as they don't have to ask for more money to give to the cohort they've been vilifying and blaming for years. All of that being the tip of the iceberg. I'm pretty sure you can extrapolate the rest given the nature of the beast. It's a riveting read (), but someone has to do it. And scene.

    Coz govt always lowers taxes to pay for less staff. Reality isn't your strong suit is it. And you conveniently ignored the costs of the new system. That usually runs into a few billion.

    Why would govt need to lower taxes to pay for less staff? They have less staff, so need not pay them, that they miss the fraction of that pay coming back as tax doesn't somehow negate the obvious net savings. Save a few billion a year though, pay itself off in no time...

    Wait til he actually does the maths. No doubt we'll be hearing that it won't be able to pay for itself and a debt jubilee will be required.

    For a Targeted Basic Income, that may well be the case. However, once scaled up to Universal Basic Income, not so much. NZ's Labour Party have figured out as much for good reason. The RSA have been "struggling" with it too. And that's before taking into account technological unemployment.

    Which is what this is. Then a UBI is just the same shit in a different tax package (rates go up, not down btw). Technological re-employment is a better term, as is production efficiency, increasing standards of living; all the 'sins' of capitalism stupid worlders love to hate, and boy do they love their hate filled ways
