Bucks on the Ducati will be at 24,000 - belts and valve check. A few years off yet on my mileage . Mind you the price they indicated is similar to the valve check on the Hornet 900 at the same kms . All that work and nothing needed touching - typical bloody Honda. I felt somewhat ...... shortchanged!

Yeah, not unusual for a modern Jap il4.

Valve clearance check for the SDR this time too, but at least there's a big gap until the next one. Didn't ask what the price is likely to be, figured there's no point in getting upset before I need to.

why would you get upset about the price? you fucking love money. and since you're incapable or unwilling to do that shit yourself, pay the motherfucker and STFU.

Why wouldn't I? I neither love nor hate money but having spent some time earning it I'm keen to get the best result from spending it I can.

And I rather think that if there's any STFU to be done it'd be cunts that are unwilling to do anything at all but still stick their hands out for other people's charity.

I've ridden anked and faired in strong winds. Nakeds are better to a point. The naked (600 Hornet) was definietely better than my CXB550 with an after thought 1/4 fairing. However, my wife's '80s CBR1000 and my current '06 Katana are both better than naked. The roundish nature of the fairing tends to deflect wind rather than catch it.

Done that stretch a few times in the past. Used to avoid it on the CBX.

It always makes me chuckle when Aucklanders discuss riding in strong winds.

And it always amuses me when some holier-than-thou, self-important, know-it-all proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that they have absolutely no idea of the meaning of the word "CONTEXT".

Live in a city full of wind and a little gale is nothing. We Aucklanders are aware of that. Conversly, live in a city with (relatively) no wind and a stiff breeze (in your terms) is something of note.

If you have nothing constructive to contribute (living in Wellington I would've thougt you'd know about wind) then leave the discussion to those of us that actually do.

Jesus, you're a rather presumptuous pompous old cunt. Take some Valium and maybe try working on your spelling, it's so bad it's embarrassing.

Wind is wind, context means fuck all. That and the fact that this thread has the title that it does, is posted in the sub-forum that it is and the O.P says what it says - I suggest you go fuck yourself.

One word wrong. That's it. Hardly embarrassing.

Well, doesn't that just prove my point.

Most things in life are relative. We Aucklanders are not used to high winds like you are. There's the context.
