I would wager it would be a lot harder to find willing soldiers if chemical/biological weapons were more widespread.

Let's face it they could be more useful than nukes. If you develop a highly toxic agent that kills quickly, and neutralises itself from the environment in a reasonable space of time it's the perfect weapon. All the infrastructure is kept in place, zero property damage. Ready for you to move into. Win win. I'm sure a lot of countries including our own are working on that behind closed doors.

Wasn't the neutron bomb supposed to be the answer ? No bang, just intense radiation which killed everything - and had a short half-life too.

Perhaps Assad is comfortable knowing that Bob Putin has his back?

Remembering that we are dealing with the minds of arabs, who are "alternative" decision makers to us.

    Just resorting to type?
Tribal aggression against against neighbouring tribes which make up the country of Syria?
    Typical "strong-man" power play?

He certainly isn't looking at expanding the borders of the original country. Or is he...

True. Hafez al-assad believed in Arab unity through peaceful negotiation. Kissinger decided otherwise and acted accordingly.

You’re projecting the inadequacies of your own argument onto others again.
It’s not your fault of course, it’s just you are a narcissist, too full of yourself to consider you could ever be wrong.
