There is no difference in how those three religions regard usury.

    None at all.

True! - I would imagine salary and contract conditions were well covered in any of the discussions regarding this - the details of which we have no idea!

Pretty slack if not! - All his team mates should know because the NZRFU seems to run collective contracts?

Perhaps you could explain why there are ghettos in many European cities and why William Shakespeare wrote The Merchant of Venice?

Probably for reasons extending well beyond anything to do with religious dogma. And for those that don't: because the respective adherents of those religions behave other than their religions suggest they should.

And all of them frown on what most equate to interest on loans.

Apparently there is just such a clause in his contract. He doesn't do promotional work for the sponsoring insurance companies either, but he will fulfil his obligations with non-financial indiustry sponsors.

The Rugby Union has made exceptions on religious grounds previously, f'rinstance Michael Jones. A player would need to be confident of his selection though, the selectors might decide he's just too much trouble.

All the contracts since about 2001.
Michael jones never made himself available to play on sundays thats a little different
SBW plays for the AIG All blacks
    In the Investec cup though.
Maybe he should boycott Wespac stadium, FMG Stadium Waikato.
He previously pllayed for the chiefs sponsored by BNZ

before that the Crusaders sponsored by BNZ

Toulon sponsored by AGV Finance. etc etc

Respectively, because the spectrum of rich to poor is more dictated by behavioral differences far more ingrained and endemic than mere ideological or religious differences.

And because Shakespeare's British popular culture was as besotted with antisemitism as much of the western world borrowing class is today. Probably for much the same reason.

I like SBW, he's a great player and a gifted athlete, but he is religious therefore a hypocrite like all religious people are. Why does this surprise anyone?

Michael Jones was an exception for religous reasons, as is SBW, and to that extent it's the same. I've no idea when SBW converted to Islam but his latest contract has the "conscientious objector" clause.

BNZ shouldn't be unhappy, they got a bloody site more publicity out of this storm in a tea cup than they would have otherwise.

As long as the ABs beat the Lions who cares?

He won't want to hurt his rugby career in total, the odd small demand for the lesser Blues franchise is only heightened because of the media coverage, which he seems to thrive when it suits.

Michael Jones only penalised himself ,SBW wants to have his cake and eat it too.
Also Michael Jones was in the amateur era.
SBW converted to Islam many years prior to his intial move to Rugby.
SBW also never told the rugby union of his stance prior to taping over the logo.
I agree though the BNZ should be happy. free publicity
SBW is a sideshow NZ rugby could do without.
We have more than enough midfeild talent without him.

SBW - I have nothing nice to say. It's a fucking job - don;t like the conditions then leave. Shit NZR should sell his contract offshore.

    Somewhat racist rant ahead.

Hmmm is it still racist if it is just a factual observation?

Nice day in CHCH today - early 20's after yesterdays downpour.

Quiet spin to the Akaroa foothills - busy as predicted.

Coming down the hill were 20- 30 private school type urban 4WD's - you know fancy RAV 4 things and the likes. All new with a weird logo on the door.

    All driven by ....... Asians.

Appears to be some organised self drive here is a nice car follow me type of tour. Fair enough, nice idea.

    Shame about the driving ....

max speed on the open road 80 .... corners 50-60.

Yes - imagine the traffic behind this on a holiday weekend.

    Some very dangerous passing.

Also - farting along really slow slightly tucked to the left waving your right hand to pass is not really safe driving in NZ. God knows if they had been told to do this but unless the road is wide enough and there is enough room it does not constitute safe passing.

Ah - how about just increasing ones speed?

Rant over. No one died (not for lack of trying).

    Next time ........
