How could you compare the two, Esp, as the USSR was full on messing with Afganistan 30 years before the US got seriously involved. Thus its hardly a logical comparison.
Why not compare the two over the same timeframe. Or is it because that does that not suit your agenda.

It's a perfectly logical question.

You claim that Afghanistan is the largest recipient of US aid.

I'd like to see how the total compares to that of Israel.

Or does the complete imbalance of the two totals not suit your agenda?

Israel comes in second among U.S. aid recipients, with a planned disbursement of 3.1 Billionin 2017, according to U.S. government statistics. Jordan is third at $1 Billion.
Total US aid is less than 1% of it federal budget.
The majority of the US aid goes to its stategic allies.

There was a website called "Britain's Small Wars" which sadly, is currently not available. It detailed the British arrival in Palestine by the paras who were sympathetic to the Jews. Many of the paras had been at the liberation of some of the German concentration camps at the end of the war. (And yes, they really did exist .) The paras were basically operating as "peacekeepers" although that term may not have been invented yet. So they arranged their tents in neat lines on a park. Until they were machine gunned from nearby roof tops by terrorists/freedom fighters - your choice - and the situation changed with attitudes adjusted accordingly.

While we can't stop the actions of such cowards, we should always keep in mind one of their greatest tools is misrepresentation, and that is one thing we can prevent.
