FI Light check locations in Auckland

Hello just wondering what places In Auckland check for FI error codes? I have tried to get into dealer mode with no luck.

My bike wouldnt start this morning seemed like flat batt. Batt read 11.6V. Hoping it is the battery nothing else. But decided best get the FI checked (has not caused any issues.

    Thank you

I used to have a 2010 GT650R EFI... The electrical system was pretty atrocious, tbh.

Check your stator and reg/rec.. Mine cooked 1 stator and fried THREE reg/recs (all OEM parts) in the 2 or 3 years that I owned it.

Yea heard hyosung are terrible for electrics. Have to google how to check those unless you could give me some guidance here?

Haha, yeah.. They can be a bit shitty.. I've had less trouble with the electrics in my 18 year old Ducati haha!

Well, the rectifer is this little guy, bolts onto the bike, nice and easy to find (I can't remember exactly where they are mounted any more but they're really accessible)

There are heaps of tutorials as to how you can test them.. So long as you have a multimetre, you should be fine

As for the stator, it's a much more involved job to get to them (inside the engine) so if you're going to go to that trouble, you may as well just order a new one and replace it while you've got it open.

From my experience if one of these components is dead, the other is dead or dying too.

I recommend checking out THIS SITE if you need spares.. I imagine they ship to NZ too? They get their parts directly from S&T motors so it's a lot cheaper than waiting for S&T to send to Hyosung, to put different stickers on them and flog them off for double the price (case in point, my replacement fuel tank was $400AUD from this site and S&T motors, compared to the $900AUD my local dealership said it would cost to get delivered!!)

Thanks for your help. I was given a new battery which helps rule out some stuff. Now my bike will not start just keeps ‘turning over?` could those two parts be the cause or are they more for thr charging aspect.

Ah, okay... Are your spark plugs and leads all good? From memory they're a bit of a shit to get to on those bikes but best start with the simple, easy, and cheap to fix possibilities first.
