They're not living in NZ ... they're living (for want of a better word) in Auckland ...

But if they couldn't/didn't figure out they couldn't live on a $100,000 lifestyle on a $50,000 income without changing their lifestyle ...

Kids cost money ... a parent has to look after it (with resulting loss of wages/salary) or you pay somebody to look after it ...

Some on lower incomes can't figure out why they can't have booze and smokes ... AND food ... and still own a flash car like "everybody else" ...

If the word fuck offends you - stiff fucking shit.

I've got nothing but contempt for fuckwits who feel the need to mask their own failings in life by criticising the physical appearances of women in power.

Helen Clark was constantly subjected to the same misogynist rants.

No not even her husband ever complimented her appearence
I would wager even you you referred to Muldoon as being "piggy" more than once.
"Big norm" wasn't about Norman Kirk being being tall either.
    Lange weight was open fodder.

The above was an example, I'm no longer on the tools.
Yes. If you don't believe that then list the assets they have access to.

Yes, same reason, if pays better than it used to. Fuck, according to tax paid/benefits accrued over half of the population are beggars. It pays A LOT.

So you didn't like something and changed it. Why aren't you doing more of that instead of bitching about how hard we've got it?

    Also; read the book.

Yes yes, but i dont think you understand how smug it makes one feel to attack from the moral high ground.

( real Auckland numbers not stats)

Beats me how Teachers, Nurses and anyone on less than $30 an hour gets by, glad I'm no longer on the tools.

Thats what happens when you think quantitive easing will get your economy going, it all goes into assets.
1997 NZ population 3.7 million Aukaland Population 1.1 million 29% of pop
2017 NZ population 4.7 million Auckland population 1.6 million 36% of pop
That's a 7% increase compared to population average.
IF the same population demographic continued to live outside of Auckland as previously did Auckland house prices would be a lot cheaper.

His high ground is more akin to a chip on his shoulder.

    Good point. Carry on.

Just so long as there's no blaming in there, can't abide all the blamestorming. Besides, katflap has that shtick covered for the entire planet.

Interesting article in Herald, although Mike Hoskings seemed to think otherwise the other day and he would know being a talk back host.

I always thought of myself as a glass half empty kind of person but sheesh.

She was wrong, just like you are.

My two kids have an amazing and exciting world out there to look forward to. I just wish I wasn't that old that I won't get to experience it.

Obviously I pity any kids having to grow up in Auckland but hey, Auckland, that seems to account for half the problems you describe.
