I reckon these bikes are going to at least double in value in the next few years.

Yeah, there are. I think there's enough evidence now to prove that buying a cheap one - and trying to race it cheaply - is a good way to get hurt.
They're tyre sensitive - brand and condition - and need to be kept up to scratch in the suspension too.
A number of people have seen how cheap they have been and thought - what a good way to go pre 89 racing...

    I suspect they already are.

My brother bought one off my neighbor a few years back, a reasonable price then was around $2.5k, so if that one sells for asking then they've obviously bottomed and on the way back up.

Very nice machine to ride, even for someone as old as me who doesn't bend as well as he used to, and more than enough horsies to keep me amused.
Riding cheap crappy old bikes badly since 1987

Was it the Tesi that Bimota made with a similar look?

It certainly stands out in a crowd.

You would have to be brain damaged to pay this much. This is around double its actual value.

this is actually pretty well done. If I owned it I would put a 25mm spacer under the rear of the fuel tank, and swap the wheels for slightly earlier Suzuki hubs with wire spokes. Apart from that (and some sort of hugger on the rear tyre, it looks pretty good.

No mention as usual of air correction jets. Bet it runs pants, CV carbs and filters always do without smaller air jets and often shrouds on emulsion tubes.

Bet it's funny when parked in the rain.
