always thought I might like a crusier .. the only thing the ride did yesterday was make me think that bike was pretty comfy (I have a farked back) but will need to ride it for a few hours to see if it starts hurting am sure I might be able to steal the keys one day to give it a go [/QUOTE]

hi chancyy just reading about your stuffed back[bugger bout that]and crusiers.
This is just my experince but i have a bad back also and i sold a crusier not long ago for financual reasons but have just bought a sports bike[cheepy].
I used to find the crusier on a long trip made my back ach but the fz dosent.
I reason that the riding position on the crusier[upright with feet forward]puts all the upper body weight straight down on the spine wereas on a sports /tourer with lean forward angle some of the weight is on the arms especially if the bike has a farring.
As a young fella [yyyyyyeeeeeeeaarrrs ago]when my back was out i would go for a long ride on my trail bike and this would fix it [most times]
I told my chiropractioner obout this ant he said the position on the bike and wind resistance hitting my body was lifting my upper body up taking weight off my back.
I sold the trailee and bought a gsx400 impulse nacked sports and the wind hitting me on that had the same effect as well as taking the weight off my arms.
    something to think about anyway

thanks for that .. the rz has a pretty upright position & does not hurt at all .. am starting to thing of the sports/tourer might be the go .. I hear ya on the young fella bit ... been yrs ago here too LOL

it could be fun stealing keys off ppl I know & having a few rides on their bikes .. & of course test riding a few from the bike shop .. once I have my full that is ..

its great to be able to have a decent ride on a type of bike though & form your impressions .. I actually thought the gixxer may have been more uncomfy than it was but it was fine .. just the upper body took a hammering but thats not all bad

.. whoooo hooooo new throttle cable on .. the boys have also fixed a few of the annoying bits .. like the rattly kick start .. bolt to hold on the back fairing, cap for the gear oil (dipstick is now under her seat)

so fingers crossed they test riding her morrow but she kicked over & seems to tick over nicely sooooooooo mechanic is taking her for another thrash morrow & I will take her for a quick blat when i finish work .. I might have a bike back on sat ..

ohh yeah i did get told off .. umm tires i guess are next (AJ might finally score the front tire he wants) & apparently shocks might need looking at
