I had a great ride today. As Lee said..nice to see the new faces. I think we chose the best road for the day. Most of it was dry and it is clean.
Nice to see you Zukin. Been a while mate. And Paul at the Pub and all you other lot

Some of us are thinking about a trip away. It might be 18 month to two years away but it will take some planning. Around OZ. No plans yet but we recon we can hire a container and pack it with bikes and gear and do the trip on our own bikes. Tents/ cabin or what ever. Do it on the cheap but leave room to change things from time to time. This is just an idea and it has not been investigated yet. I will start a new thread about it in the future. This is to plant the seed and give you a chance to think about it. I would think we should be away for a month. Lets see if this develops.

Thanks for a great ride. Missed some of you regular riders.

Ah a long day. Napier to Hamilton and back to pick up the young fella. Lucky we were in the cage as there was a massive frost on the Taupo plains. Ice all over the roads. Was behind one of those flash SUV's and and we got into a massive ice patch and around he went (360), and over he went off the road with the other two vechiles. And in my head i was saying get out of my way, as i was coming thru. And i just sailed thru (helps having a 4WD Car with ABS).
So guess you guys took the better road all nice and dry.

I went down to patangata the other day. The only drama is that the farmers have been grazing stock on the sides of the road. therefore there is mud and sh_t everywhere.

Well done that man. They recon you can spot a motorbike rider in a group of cars. He/she is the one not panicking and doing all the right things. looks like you proved it today. Good stuff that man.

Just having a quick squize thru KW after an awesome hol in Aussi. 6500kms in five weeks with wifey on a DL650 fully loaded with tent, cooking gear, etc etc. Flew bike into Brisbane and rode upto Coen (towards Cape York) and then back again. I can only recommend doing this to anyone. If you want any info on getting a bike to Aussi and traveling this area, give me a yell.
Interesting comment from GIXXXER 4 EVER re:Five Star. You didn't mention the type of oil, as the price of oil varies an incredable amount depending on the brand / grade etc. Come and see me in the Five Star workshop anytime and I will be happy to give you advise on what you need. I start working there on Monday 16th July as the new Service Manager and have been around Suzuki's for a few years now, so I hope I can help. Craig Guy

    Hi Craig.
I went around the corner and picked the oil up from the new black display shelf. You tell me what brand it is.I ask Lee if this was the oil I should use. He went away and checked and changed the oil I had in my hand to a Race oil. I ask Lee the price of it 3 times and it was only when I insisted on knowing the price he told me it was $103.00 for the oil and the filter.

I have been a loyal customer of Twin city and was pleased to carry on but when it took 5 weeks to get a tyre for my son's bike it seemed a bit too long. Lee told us it was going to take 3-4 weeks so we ordered it and waited. Then I told Patrick to call Cycletreads and they had the tyre on the shelf for $170.00 landed in Napier. Then to top it off Lee told him he could have it Tomorrow for the same price what am I suppose to think? And when staff pick up parts and can not pay for them with our usual payment option cos Five star have not done their paper work I get pissed off. Our staff should not have to pay my bills thank you. Five Star could have put the stuff on my account if they didn't want/couldn't use Farmlands. Yes I have an account other than Farmlands. All they had to do was check the computer to see if I had an account and see if I paid on time.

I only published what happened. I have supported Twin City for years( as you know Craig) and have sent work from other friends your way for a long time. If Five Star improve their service and are as good as other bike shops I would recommend you. But in light of what has happened to me in the last few months do I not have the right to think things have changed?
I don't want a bun fight here so lets see how this works out in the work shop over time. If the service is good I will publish it. if not I will do the same. This is a bike riders club and the interest of bike riders is one of the things we talk about. Welcome to Kiwibiker Craig.

Oh by the way...........nice to have you back Craig..............hope to get out on the track with you again, soon

    Cheers Craig

Now about this OZ trip. You going to write a report for us all to read on your trip? Plenty of interest from da local riders here in the Bay. Maybe you could be part of the next trip and lead the way. I recon I might have to get a tank made for the gixxer to get a few more K's out of a tank of Gas.

I would like some info on this stuff. As I said, we are just seeing if we have a few interested. I have had 5 people keen so far and I only put the idea out there today. I recon we should make it 18 months or so to get the $$ together. The trip you did is the one I want to do but carry on around the top and down the west coast. I will be back in to Five Star now you have made a point of letting me know you are back and have a chat sometime. Just out of interest Craig...what does it cost to ship a bike to OZ?

    Cheers Craig.
    Nice to have you back.

Well I enjoyed that ride, a bit slow on some of the wet corners, but your mate Steve flew past me up the elbow and disapeared, flipping heck he was flying. I bust me glasses at Portarino so I found it hard focusing thats why I took the lead cos I didnt want to bump any one in the back end. Kept fogging up on the way back had to ride with visor up and it wasnt very pleasant.
Some photos, Europeans eh first there, time to go and decides to let some air out
Whos that kissing the front wheel.

Has anyone organised a place and time to meet for the ride today? Is it still happening?
