    The whole premise of that joke is based on the ignorant American mispronounciation of Iraq. It is I-raq, not Eye-raq.

    I think they mean by `I-raq' the correct pronunciation of `I' as a syllable (rather than a word) -- sort of like a shortened `eh' (phonetically, not the word `eh' that sounds like `aye'). So, `Eh-raq', or even `Ih-raq' if you're a kiwi with a flat tongue.

    Yes yes, I know that. Just the way he wrote it, to my eye and ear they looked like identical pronunciations.

    Do you notice that since the war began we Kiwis have changed the way we say Iraq? We all used to say it Eh-raq or Uh-raq, now we say it Eye-raq, just like the USA. That's global media for you.

    Globl media and alot of people here devouring anything american they can. McDonalds anyone? Or maybe superstores, Hip-hop/rap, coke....

    btw, the only dunkin' donuts I know of in NZ is the one by Auckland Airport. Need to go there soon I think.
