Its amazing how many people have been given the gone-burgers speech, but have gotten through it just with spunk and sheer force of will!
to all of you and your friends out there who have been through that, AJ salutes you!!

Best wishes from me and Gassit Girl, Toaster. You've got rock hard attitude, I'm sure it will get you through. Cheers mate
THANKS to everyone... I am slowly working through my "thank you" green reps! I am very appreciative of the jibes, laughs, support and invites. Just fabulous you lot!

To all the posters thanks for the efforts made. I am still slowly repping in thanks... keep running out of juice to do it in one go. I will get there though.
To be honest I had a shocker today. Just got home after getting out for a while to think about it. Shit this place is quiet... and dark. Anyway, enough bollocks from me.
Dude, you have no idea what kind of abuse human body can withstand when one is determined. Just a word of advice: do not accidentally cause additional harm by working out improperly. Things to protect are kneecaps (can be injured by unbalanced running/cycling), testicular cords or whatever they are called (typical repetitive stress injury if you don't wear tight underwear while working out), and elbow joints (from misguided weight lifting). Take a balanced approach, try to do as much cross training as you do weightlifting and eat right.
The good thing is that at some stage endorphines kick in making workouts enjoyable. After a couple of months you'll become an athletics junkie, feeling sore if you have to miss a run or a session in the gym.
I don't wish good luck - luck hasn't got anything to do with it. Only determination. You've got a fighting chance - use it well.
"People are stupid ... almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true. People's heads are full of knowledge, facts, and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true ... they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so all are easier to fool." -- Wizard's First Rule
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
we will remember them
