Over 3 weeks ago me and Mrs merv were silly enough to visit my Bro' for the weekend in Napier to celebrate his birthday and he had a cough. On the Monday afternoon I'm back at work and start feeling a bit crook thinking oh well just a cold I'll shake it off soon. Problem was me and Mrs merv were due to leave for Cairns and a lovely 8 day holiday in the sun on the Wednesday. Mrs comes down with this thing on Tuesday prior, day after me. Off we go to Cairns and bugger me we can't shake it. Did everything we wanted to do over there except go snorkelling on the reef coz we just didn't feel like it and other evening events curtailed slightly too.
8 days later we're back home, I'm still so bloody crook I stayed home from work on the Thursday and Friday and go see my doc - he reckons "oh you must have got a secondary infection, here's some penicillin for it". Well a week later the antibiotics are finished and I'm still crook. By then I'm back at work and off with a planning session with the boss doing a 50 min presentation and still feeling like crap.
Weekend passes, can't be bothered biking, the weather was cold anyway, and today I'm still feeling like shit so came home from work early. Now I'm drinking my brandy straight. My Bro' is calling it the Hawkes Bay 100 day cough. Can anyone out there tell me how to get rid of the fucker I'm getting sick of it and so is Mrs merv (she doesnt have the cough so bad but feels like crap and is sick of me moaning)?
So if you haven't seen me on the road lately, that's why. Just the holiday should have been fantastic instead of just good. We have unfinished business with the Great Barrier Reef.
Now whether I caught it in Napier or not who knows, coulda got it on the train commuting in Welly I suppose - but fellow KBers any suggestions coz it feels like it aint moving on?
Is that more exciting than acne or what?
