Well it wasn't the speedo cable but the drive at the front wheel,quite a common problem apparently because back in China they don't bother lubricating them properly when they assemble the bikes

.So if you have a new Chinese built GN250 I would strongly suggest you get it lubed properly at next service otherwise you can kiss goodbye to $170.You would have thought Suzuki would sought this out rather than let their poor customers find out the hard way

.As for the warranty being expired by 1 month I'm sure the consumer garantees act would agree that a speedo drive should last longer than 13 months,but I have neither the time or inclination to fight it.
